When the magician finds out he has been cheated he turns hisson, from a cow, into a deer. Nokpokliba then turns into a dogand starts chasing. Seeing his son (the deer) in danger, themerchant turns it into three grains <strong>of</strong> rice. Nokpokliba thenturns into a dove but manages to eat only two out <strong>of</strong> the treegrains <strong>of</strong> rice. As a result the magician's powers are weakenedand he can not bring his son back to life. He avenges his son'sdeath by turning himself into a hawk and chases to kill the dove(Nokpokliba).Nokpokliba leads him towards a huge pit <strong>of</strong> fire where theevil merchant meets his end. The motive behind thefilm was also to preserve these short tales so that they are notlost completely.MEREN IMCHENMeren Imchen hails from Nagaland. With adiploma in animation film design from NationalInstitute <strong>of</strong> Design, Meren Imchen launchedhis film career first by assisting on a claymationproject for MTV, 'Poga'.
