SYNOPSISDAATU(Cross Over)(35mm/colour/ Kannada/120 minutes/EST)Annappa, resident <strong>of</strong> Dharma Kunda, a small village hasbeen given the responsibility to collect taxes from the villagers.He and his wife Sharada are compassionate individuals, andrespected by everyone. Once while cleaning the idols <strong>of</strong> the pujaroom, she removes a bundle <strong>of</strong> anklets <strong>of</strong> their ancestors. Forher mistake Sharada now needs to perform a 21 days prayer <strong>of</strong>Mastamma in the temple campus <strong>of</strong> Dharmakunda, as penance.Around the same time a cloth merchant Usman Khan comesto the village and begins selling clothes with the permission <strong>of</strong>Gowda and Annappa. Sharada is invited to inaugurate this sale.Usman Khan casts an evil eye on Sharada and kidnaps her alittle later. Sharada’s absence creates panic in the family and thevillage. A police complaint is lodged. Usman Khan wants Sharadato embrace Islam and marry him. Sharada somehow escapescaptivity and reaches the village. The village heads are howevernow reluctant to accept her back. They decide that Sharadacould join the family only during the sacred Ganga water bathingceremony.
