With Tivibu SmartTV application, Vestel Smart TV users can benefit fromTivibu’s advanced services including “Choose & Watch,”“Replay” and “Rent & Watch” from 31 TV channels.com offered new games of record-breaking series suchas “Call of Duty Black Ops II” and “Football Manger2013” to its users. Furthermore, allowing payment by 12monthly installments also increased demand.PANTELTurkey, a hub of intercontinental communicationThe Social Tivi application developed by Tivibu whichprovides a social media experience via TV, is being usedby over 30% of Tivibu Home subscribers. On the otherhand, other Tivibu applications that convert smart phonesand tablet computers into remote controllers were alsoprovided.Tivibu blazed a trail in Turkey by broadcasting theLondon Olympics on four screens and on six differentchannels in HD and standard image quality with thecontributions of TRT Sports. The Olympics broadcast hada positive impact on the number of subscribers.Another important step in sports was the broadcast ofItaly Series A, France Ligue 1, England FA Cup and 2014World Cup qualifying and playoff matches of the EnglandNational Football Team that will be played on its ownfootball pitch, on 4 screens for all Tivibu users freelywithin the framework of the agreement with TRT Sports.TTNET Music, another TTNET entertainment product,maintains its position as being the largest andpredominant music platform with nearly 3 millionlocal and foreign songs. Reaching nearly 4.5 millionindividual users a month in 2012, TTNET Music drewintense interest from users through radio and mobileapplications. With a new TTNET Music application, bywhich music lovers can listen to all songs free of charge,a single song or whole album became downloaded witha single click. The previously-offered 100 local songspackage continues as before. TTNET Music also realizeda very special application – the first official businesspartner of Facebook – providing music content in Turkey.With this application, TTNET Music users are able tolisten to local and foreign songs through Facebook.TTNET’s digital game platform, Playstore.com, maintainsits position as a key player in the digital game sector andcontinues to develop with each passing day in Turkey.Through content studies, the Playstore.com catalogueoffers nearly 1,000 different games. Being one of the top playersin its field with over 40,000 km of optic fiber networkacross 19 nations and more than 50 points of presencein Europe at the end of 2012, Pantel delivers nationaland international alternative fiber optic infrastructureservices with its state-of-the-art communicationssystems.By the end of 2012, the international wholesale voiceservices provided by Türk <strong>Telekom</strong> and Pantel wereintegrated under the Pantel brand. The integration ofthe two international voice businesses allows Pantelto better serve its customers by leveraging the assetsand experience of both companies to provide voiceconnectivity to a wider geographic area across Centraland Eastern Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, theCaucasus and beyond. This advantage has propelledTurkey to the position of regional hub in telecoms. Pantelplays a critical strategic role by significantly contributingto Turkey’s transformation into being a bridge of dataand voice connecting the Middle East to Europe. Türk<strong>Telekom</strong> has established data and broadband traffic inTurkey, the Middle East, Asian markets on the one handand Western Europe and America on the other thanksto Pantel. Thus, Türk <strong>Telekom</strong> further strengthened itsglobal position in 2012.As of the fourth quarter of 2012, Pantel and Paltel, thelargest private-sector telecommunications companyin Palestine, announced that a major advancement inconnectivity for Palestine will be provided to enablePalestine to advance its communication network.Pantel and Paltel have come together to connect theircommunication networks from Frankfurt to the westof Palestine and Jordan to the east. This connection isthe first international direct cable line that connectsthe IP Hub of Palestine to Europe. It is a highly resilientcommunication network designed with full redundancyand scalable features for providing service to futurecommunication needs of the region.Pantel has two full redundant fiber optic-based DWDMnetworks between Frankfurt and Istanbul. Both routespass through Romania and Albania. For adding newcountries to the big backbone of Pantel, the decision hasbeen taken regarding establishment of a dark fiber routepassing to Frankfurt over Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.At the end of October 2011, the first phase of the projectwas handed over. The last phase of the project includedthe establishment of the Belgrade-to-Frankfurt line overMunich, which was realized in the third quarter of 2012.At the third route of the project, Pantel built redundantDWDM routes to Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana.At the end of 2012, a new point of presence wasestablished in Hong Kong.
