Theinitiative seeks to avoid traffic jams before they are created.Mobile Health SolutionsWith its investments in technology, Avea continues tomake progress in Human Touch Points. Avea attractsthe health world into Avea stores through its specialpeer-to-peer products and solutions including protectiveinformation, tele-medical and tele-health offered tohealth sector employees and companies. Thanks toprotective information services, Avea subscribers canfind the nearest all-night pharmacy through the NightPharmacy Service and also locate a family physicianthrough the Family Physician Enquiry Service. Allinformation related to health, including the I’m Pregnant,I’m A Mother, Diabetes, and Healthy Life packages, canbe received via SMS. Customers who use the My Doctorservice can communicate with doctors and can receiveconsultancy services about health issues and requestemergency assistance.Also in 2012, Avea continued its uninterrupted ambitiousand serious activities in the tele-medical field. Improvingthe lives of patients with mobile technologies, Avealaunched the first and most comprehensive RemoteChronic Disease Surveillance Project in Turkey incooperation with Acıbadem Mobile Health Services. Withthis project, patients – not only chronic patients, but allpatients – who have been discharged from hospital andwho require home care or otherwise need to be kept undersurveillance and protective controls after emergencymedical intervention, are tracked 24/7 regardless of timeand location. This application, which aims to enable rapidand proper treatment and care services through mobiletracking systems and supervisions, is projected to assistmore than 10,000 patients within the first year.Avea aims to enhance the daily lives of employees and toprovide high-speed information access through servicesdevoted to employees in the health sector. One suchservice is The Ministry of Health’s Public Circular SMSPackage which notifies subscribers to this service withannouncements from authorities such as the Ministry ofHealth and the Social Security Institution (SGK). Anothersignificant Avea service is its Mobile Signature Servicewhich provides safe access to the same authorities’electronic applications such as e-prescription via mobile.Another mobile health project initiated by Avea is theSanPad Project, the first full-scale tablet project in Turkeycarried out with an operator in the pharmaceutical industry.Within the scope of this project launched in cooperation withSanovel, presentations for physicians are uploaded to iPadsthrough specially developed applications. With this project,Sanovel enjoyed cost savings of up to 75% by terminatingthe production of printed materials for nearly 60 medicinespreviously sold through active marketing.Customers Have the Control Thanks to S.E.Ç.In 2012, Avea blazed a trail in Turkey’s GSM sector bylaunching its S.E.Ç. (Simple, Affordable, and Diverse)boutique tariff. In a market riddled with complicatedoffers, the S.E.Ç. tariff brings together under the sameroof all the common and affordable tariffs that meet allthe needs of both prepaid and postpaid users, includingsmart phone users, in a simple format that allowscustomers to choose based on their needs.Communication From Both Land Lines and Mobile LinesAvea attracted the attention of mobile users in 2012through many useful solutions packages. SMS and mobileInternet packages were launched to meet the free andaffordable communications needs of all subscribers,while new offers were provided to football fans whichwere special for their Club-branded lines. For the firsttime in Turkey, a special solution package which providescommunications from home telephone land lines as wellas mobile phones with a special offer was offered to hometelephone subscribers. Avea also permitted subscribers tocreate their own tariffs, allowing for the most suitable, mostaffordable, tailor-made solutions by adding mobile Internetand/or SMS packages as preferred.An Operator Providing Savings AnywhereWithin the scope of the “Avea provides savingsanywhere” platform, Avea subscribers had manyopportunities in various sectors such as food andbeverage, fashion, automotive, clothing, home decorationand travel by collaborating with leading brands. A total ofTL 33.3 million was saved by 916,000 Avea subscribers in2012. Furthermore, Avea granted additional privileges toits customers by running 135 campaigns throughout theyear.Avea’s Enlivened Life Packages offered users nine newproduct options including “Avea Caricature;” “AveaAstrology,, “Avea Anatolia Agency News,” “Avea Magazine,”“Avea Technology,” “Avea Film,” “Avea Basketball,” “AveaPublic News” and “Avea Cinema News” in cooperation withcontent partners who are known brands in their fields.Afordable Internet EraAvea prevented the unexpectedly high bills through itsafordable Internet packages launched in Q3. The fearlessInternet packages of Avea, which blazed a trail in Turkey,also eliminated the “excess package usage.” Beingthe fastest-growing GSM operator in mobile Internetbusiness, through Avea aims to achieve highest levelof customer satisfaction and to increase the numberof mobile Internet users, both from mobile and Jet, aswell as increase its revenues while providing affordable,unlimited and social package options for different needsthroughout the day and night.First Smart Phone “Avea inTouch”Avea released its first branded smart phone, the “Aveain Touch” in 2012. With a cash price of TL 399 or monthlyTL 1 added to the tariff, the Avea in Touch featuringandroid 2.3.5 operating system, 3.5 inch 480x800resolution touch screen, 600 MHz Qualcomm processor,3.2 MP camera, 512 MB RAM and 32 GB memory card aswell as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS support, created a buzzin the market with its elegant design.Women Victims of Violence are Under the Protectionof AveaUtilizing innovative technologies to enhance economic andsocial life, Avea launched its “Electronic Support System inProtection of Victims of Violence” within the scope of its“Security Button” realized in cooperation with the TurkishMinistry of Family and Social Policies, the Turkish Ministryof Internal Affairs, and the Turkish National Police.The project’s pilot scheme, launched in Adana and Bursa,was carried out under the authority of Fatma Şahin, theTurkish Minister of Family and Social Policies. The devicetransmits details of a customer’s most recent location,and this information is then transferred via GPS to the155 Police Crime Line. Thus, police are able to takeemergency measures to protection customers.Avea Musical ConcertsAdopting the vision of adding value to social life, Aveahas been bringing together famous singers from Turkeyand all over the world for music lovers to enjoy. With thisaim, the Avea Extraordinary Musical Concerts and AveaEscape With Music Concerts continued in 2012.The fourth Avea Extraordinary Musical Concerts,combining modern with traditional, domestic with globaland bringing together great artists from East and West,was held on November 13, 2012. Within the scope of thisconcert, world-famous Iranian trio Niyaz synthesizedMiddle East folk sounds, poetry and songs, including thepoetry of the mystic Sufi, with Western electronica.The third Escape to Music Concerts attracted the interestof music lovers by bringing together rock and indie popartists such as Sharon Van Etten, a rising star of Indie rockand neo-folk music who received full marks from criticsthanks to her unique performance on the Escape to Musicstage. Irish group Thin Lizzy, known as one of the mostimportant figures of hard rock, and Heavy Metal greetedfans at Küçükçiftlik Park with the sponsorship of Avea.Avea and FC Barcelona Joined Their Forces for theFuture Football PlayersAs the “Turkish Official Telecommunications BusinessPartner” of FCBarcelona, Avea collaborated with theworld’s best football team, FC Barcelona, in shapingTurkey’s future football stars.Those partners launched FCBEscola Camp in 2012.
