Differential MeasurementsYou can use a differential measurement configuration to attainmore accurate measurements and less noise. A differentialmeasurement configuration requires two inputs for eachmeasurement, thus reducing the number of available channels onthe NI 9205 to 16. V 1V 2Referenced Single-Ended (RSE) MeasurementsYou can use an RSE measurement configuration to takemeasurements on 32 channels when all channels share a commonground. Note If you leave COM unconnected, the signals floatoutside the working input range of the NI 9205. This mayresult in unreliable measurements because there is no wayto ensure that the input signal is within 10 V of COM.Non-Referenced, Single-Ended (NRSE)MeasurementsYou can use an NRSE measurement configuration to takemeasurements on all 32 channels while reducing noise moreeffectively than with an RSE connection configuration. Thisconfiguration provides remote sense for the negative (–) input ofthe PGIA that is shared by all channels configured for NRSE mode. The behavior of this configuration is similar to the behavior of RSEconnections, but it provides improved noise rejection.
