He worked for CU Insurance for eight years where he gained a solid humanresources foundation. From CU Insurance Stukkies joined Deloitte & Touche HumanCapital as a remuneration consultant and was later part of the team that formed anoutsourcing division. He joined Unison Consulting (Human Resources Outsourcing) thatwas the consulting wing of MX Health Group for three years and joined Mogale SolutionProviders (MSP) for a year and half before joining UYF in May 2005.Mbongeni MtshaliDivisional Director: Business Development Support ServicesMbongeni Mtshali is a small business sector practitioner with 15 years’ experience inprogramme design, implementation and evaluation. Mtshali’s professional experiencewithin the small enterprise development sector is wide and varied covering programmeimplementation, management and policy development. Mtshali has previously workedfor Ntsika Enterprise Promotion Agency which has recently been merged into SmallEnterprise Development Agency. He is Director for Business Development Servicesat <strong>Umsobomvu</strong> <strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Fund</strong>. Mtshali’s professional highlights include secondment tothe IEC during South Africa’s first democratic elections, launching a first businessvoucher scheme in South Africa and being project leader for the team that plannedand established <strong>Umsobomvu</strong> <strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Fund</strong>’s first UYF-operated YAC. Mtshali holds aBachelor of Law degree.Busani NgcaweniDivisional Director: Skills Development and TransferBusani Ngcaweni is currently seconded to the Office of the Presidency responsible for<strong>Youth</strong> Affairs. He has been with UYF since June 2002. His experience includes managementMzwabantu NtlangeniDivisional Director: Process CycleManagementMzwabantu Ntlangeni previously workedfor the National Development Agency as aProgramme Manager. He was involved withthe Transitional <strong>Fund</strong>ing Institution beforethe formation of the National DevelopmentAgency where he held various positionsincluding General Manager. He holds aBachelor of Commerce degree from RhodesUniversity.Roy RajdharDivisional Director: Enterprise FinanceRoy Rajdhar has 20 years’ working experience.He started his career by servingarticles of clerkship in Fisher Hoffman. Aftercompletion of his articles in 1990 he joinedPhilips (South Africa), as Group FinancialAccountant. Since 1994 he has beeninvolved in developmental finance – mainfocus area being SME financing. He workedfor the International Finance Corporation,the investment banking arm of the WorldBank Group before joining <strong>Umsobomvu</strong><strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Fund</strong> (UYF) in 2003.Derek SmithDivisional Director: Contact Information andCounsellingDerek Smith has been with the <strong>Fund</strong> sinceAugust 2002 and joined as a ProgrammeManager in the Contact Information andCounselling Division. He is currently theDirector of the CIC Division. He completedhis high school education at the EldoradoPark Senior Secondary School in Gautengbefore studying in the USA towards a BAdegree in Development Economics. Hereturned to South Africa in 1993 and hassince worked in the youth developmentsector in various institutions and capacities.He has over 15 years’ experience in thedesign, development and implementation ofyouth development programmes includingskills development, business developmentand information-based programmes.<strong>Umsobomvu</strong> <strong>Youth</strong> <strong>Fund</strong> <strong>2006</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong>11
