Slow speed controlled by an externalsignalSlow speed controlled by an external signal is basically thesame functionality as slow speed during a selected timedescribed above. An external signal connected to the analogue/digitalinput is also used to deactivate slow speedbefore the set time period has expired. When slow speed at start is configured and the analogue/digital input (menu [500]) is configured for slow speed, themotor shaft will start rotating at slow speed in a forwarddirection after a start signal. When the number of edges setin menu [501] is detected on the analogue/digital input, slow speed is deactivated and a start is performed accordingto the start settings (menu [310] and the following). When slow speed at stop is configured and the analogue/digitalinput (menu [500]) is configured for slow speed, themotor shaft will start rotating with slow speed in forwarddirection after a stop has performed. When the number ofedges set in menu [501] is detected on the analogue/digitalinput, slow speed is deactivated and the DC brake is activatedif configured in menu [333].Slow speed controlled by an external signal is configuredusing the following parameters:[500] Digital/analogue input[501] Edges digital input[330] Slow speed strength[331] Slow speed time at start[332] Slow speed time at stop[333] DC-brake at slow speed[324] Braking strengthSlow speed for a selected timeSlow speed in forward direction can be activated before astart and/or after a stop. The resulting speed curve is shownin Fig. 47 overleaf. Slow speed will be active for the timeperiod selected in menus [331] and [332]. Slow speed can becombined with any start and stop method. However, whenslow speed at stop is used, it should be ensured that themotor speed is decreased to a low value when slow speed isactivated. If necessary, brake can be activated as stop methodin menu [320].The slow speed strength can be adapted to the application’srequirements in menu [330]. Maximum available slow speedstrength corresponds to about 30% of nominal motortorque. If so desired, the DC brake can be activated after slow speedat stop. If activated, the DC brake will be active for the timeperiod chosen in menu [333].Slow speed during a selected time is configured using thefollowing parameters:[330] Slow speed strength[331] Slow speed time at start[332] Slow speed time at stop[333] DC-brake at slow speed[324] Braking strengthSpeedn NNominal speed0.14 x nSlow speedNrunningSlow speedat startStart time Full voltage Stop time Slow speedat stopTimeStart command Stop command StoppedFig. 47 Slow speed at start/stop during a selected time period.Emotron AB 01-4135-01r2 Functional description 65
