He has been director of the Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine atthe IEO since 1994, and deputy Scientific Director since 2010. Previously, he was assistant pathologist atS. Raffaele Hospital, Milan (1978-1981), and vice-director of Department of Pathology S. Paolo Hospital,Milan (1981-1994). A member from 1987, he was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologistsin 1997. Scientific interests include abnormal expression of oncogenes and tumour suppressor genesin human malignancies, derangements in cell-cycle control and apoptotic pathways, and the role ofangiogenesis in tumour progression and response to therapy.He is active member of many international societies, organizations and committees such as the AJCCworking group for the TNM classification of breast cancer, Pathology Sub-study Group of the IntergroupExemestane Study (PathIES), Executive and Steering Committees of the Aphinity trial and responsiblefor the Central Pathology Laboratory, FFPE Working Group of the Breast International (BIG) and NationalCancer Institute (NCI)-sponsored breast cancer Cooperative Groups, Early Breast Cancer Trialists’Collaborative Group Steering Committee, Founding Member of the International Sentinel Node Society,Co-chair of the Translational Research Committee of the BIG2-98 trial (Trans-TAX), Executive and SteeringCommittees of the Breast International Group (BIG) and of the MINDACT trial, Translational ResearchCommittee of the HERA trial, Scientific/Translational Research Committee of the Breast InternationalGroup (BIG), Scientific Committee of the Italian National Institute of Health, co-chairman of the CentralPathology Office of the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG) and the Scientific Committeeof the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG). Lacroix-Triki graduated in Pathology in Toulouse in 2001. Specializedin Breast Pathology, she works as a full-time pathologist at Claudius Regaud Institute, aComprehensive Cancer Center which is planned to become a major part of the new ToulouseCancer Campus (Oncopôle) in 2013. Author of 34 original papers, she is now completing her PhDon post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in breast cancer and has written severalbook chapters in Breast Pathology in collaboration with Prof. J. Reis-Filho (Editors J. Palazzo andD. Dabbs). In 2009-2010, she held a Research Fellow position in Prof. J. Reis-Filho’s MolecularPathology Lab (Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre, Institute of Cancer Research,London, UK), where she conducted several translational research studies on breast cancer.President of the French GEFPICS group (a national group composed of pathologists working onbreast cancer biomarkers) since 2011, she is also the Referent Pathologist of several UNICANCERclinical trials such as the Tavix/PACS08 (including 800 patients with triple-negative tumors),SAFIR-01, GERICO11/PACS10, or UNIRAD. She chairs the TRANSPACS08 steering committeeand is an active pathologist in several Scientific Committees of UNICANCER clinical trials whichare dedicated to translational research in breast cancer. Her research interests are mainly posttranscriptionalregulation of gene expression in breast cancer and translation regulation by thePI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway in collaboration with a research team from Gustave Roussy Institute,Villejuif, France (Dr S. Vagner, Prof. F. André). She is member of USCAP, SFSPM and of the ScientificBoard of the French Quality Assurance Program (AFAQAP).

From 2001 to 2008he was Assistant Professor of Pathology at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and since 2008he was appointed as an Associated Professor of Pathology at the same University, where he iscurrently the Director of the Department of Pathology.Dr. Hardisson is member of the Spanish Society of Pathology, European Society of Pathologyand USCAP. His research interests are primarily focused on the molecular basis of breast andgynecologic cancer, and he is the Director of the research group of Breast and GynecologicCancer at the Hospital La Paz Institute for Health Research (IdiPAZ).
