The additional sick leave days referred to above shall also be included in thoseSupplements containing sick leave provisions prior to June 1, 1976.Section 6.Jury DutyArticle 10All employees called for jury duty will receive <strong>the</strong> difference between eight (8) hours'pay at <strong>the</strong> applicable hourly wage and actual payment received for jury service forfifteen (15) days per year for each eligible employee.When such employees report for jury service on a scheduled workday, <strong>the</strong>y will not beunreasonably required to report for work that particular day.Time spent on jury service will be considered time worked for purposes of Employercontributions to health and welfare and pension plans, vacation eligibility and payment,holidays and seniority, in accordance with <strong>the</strong> applicable provisions of <strong>the</strong> Supplemental<strong>Agreement</strong>s to a maximum of fifteen (15) days per contract year.It is <strong>the</strong> intent of this Section to provide compensation for time lost from work becauseof jury duty. It is applicable only to regular seniority employees. The employee shallreceive <strong>the</strong> difference between eight (8) hours' straight-time pay and <strong>the</strong> total amount ofmonies received for jury service.Regular employees reporting for jury duty on a regularly scheduled workday andserving on a jury shall receive jury duty pay.Regular employees reporting for jury duty and not selected for jury service shall berequired to report for work, if, by reasonable efforts, such employees can complete four(4) or more hours of <strong>the</strong> normally scheduled workday. In such event, <strong>the</strong> employee shallbe paid eight (8) hours' straight-time pay for <strong>the</strong> completion of <strong>the</strong> scheduled shift lesstotal monies received for jury service.Truckaway and driveaway drivers shall receive jury duty pay if <strong>the</strong> requirement to reportfor jury duty prevents <strong>the</strong> driver from being dispatched. Jury duty payments describedabove shall be made for each day's work lost as a result of such missed dispatch.Agreed procedures of reporting for dispatch, after a dispatch has been missed, shallapply.The employee must present proof of jury duty and time of release to <strong>the</strong> Employerincluding jury duty pay amounts and <strong>the</strong> Employer shall pay jury duty pay <strong>the</strong> nextregular pay period after receipt of <strong>the</strong> required information. Each payment of jury dutypay shall be included in <strong>the</strong> number of compensable jury days per contract year.48
