Article 10Section 4.Funeral PayIn <strong>the</strong> event of a death in <strong>the</strong> family (fa<strong>the</strong>r, mo<strong>the</strong>r, wife, husband, bro<strong>the</strong>r, sister, sonor daughter, including foster parents and step-parents, grandparents, grandchildren,mo<strong>the</strong>r-in-law, fa<strong>the</strong>r-in-law, step-children and foster children), a regular employee shallbe entitled to three (3) days' pay.A regular employee shall be entitled to three (3) days' funeral leave during <strong>the</strong> periodfrom and including <strong>the</strong> day of <strong>the</strong> death of <strong>the</strong> designated relative to and including <strong>the</strong>day after <strong>the</strong> funeral if all o<strong>the</strong>r conditions set forth herein are met:(a) To be eligible for paid funeral leave, <strong>the</strong> employee must attend, or make abona fide effort to attend <strong>the</strong> funeral or memorial service.(b) Pay for compensable funeral leave shall be for eight (8) hours at <strong>the</strong>straight-time hourly rate for each day of funeral leave for which <strong>the</strong> employee is eligible.(c) Funeral leave is not compensable when <strong>the</strong> employee is on leave of absence,vacation, bona fide layoff, sick leave, holiday, workers' compensation, jury duty or wouldnot have o<strong>the</strong>rwise worked.(d) The relatives designated shall include bro<strong>the</strong>rs and sisters having one (1)parent in common; and those relationships generally called "step," providing persons insuch relationship have lived or have been raised in <strong>the</strong> family home and have continuedan active family relationship.(e) Those Supplemental <strong>Agreement</strong>s having pre-existing funeral leave clausesshall retain <strong>the</strong> same, unless amended by Supplemental negotiations.Section 5.Sick Leave(a) This <strong>Agreement</strong> shall provide for five (5) days of sick leave per contract yearunless o<strong>the</strong>rwise modified in <strong>the</strong> Supplemental <strong>Agreement</strong>.Employees must be listed on <strong>the</strong> seniority roster (active or inactive) at <strong>the</strong>commencement of each contract year (June 1) and have remained continuously onsuch seniority roster at <strong>the</strong> time sick leave payments are claimed.(b) In order to be eligible for daily sick leave payments, <strong>the</strong> eligible employeemust be on <strong>the</strong> active seniority roster at <strong>the</strong> time of illness or accident.46
