Article 7a written grievance, such grievance shall be filed within ten (10) days excludingSaturdays, Sundays and holidays after <strong>the</strong> written denial of <strong>the</strong> claim. These time limitsreplace o<strong>the</strong>r time limits expressed in this <strong>Agreement</strong> and are firm. Failure to file orrespond on time will result in a default against <strong>the</strong> party failing to comply. Defaultsestablish no precedent on <strong>the</strong> merits of <strong>the</strong> claim.After any grievance is reduced to writing, <strong>the</strong> Employer representative will makeavailable for inspection by <strong>the</strong> business agent and/or <strong>the</strong> steward, time sheets and allsuch o<strong>the</strong>r records as are pertinent to <strong>the</strong> handling of <strong>the</strong> specific dispute or grievance.This does not preclude or prevent an oral attempt on <strong>the</strong> part of <strong>the</strong> business agent or<strong>the</strong> steward to settle such dispute or grievance before a request is made for suchrecords.
