<strong>International</strong> <strong>Tank</strong> <strong>Container</strong> <strong>Organisation</strong>ITCO President Report 2 – Feb, 2009At the ITCO board meeting in Brussels on the 4thof February we agreed to accept the following 4companies as mem<strong>be</strong>rs :Ekol Logistics – Operator TurkeyReal Asset Management – TSP U.K.Silver Global - TSP India Van Doorn <strong>Container</strong> Parts –TSP The NetherlandsI would like to give a warm welcome to all fournew mem<strong>be</strong>rs and look forward to see them at theMunich logistics show in May or at our generalmeeting in Octo<strong>be</strong>r.ICHCAWe now have the final version agreed and we arejust waiting for 4 additional photos which showaccess to the top of tank containers <strong>be</strong>fore this ispublished on the ICHCA web-site.The document will then <strong>be</strong> available fordownloading by our mem<strong>be</strong>rs and all otherinterested parties.It has <strong>be</strong>en agreed by the board that ITCO willarrange a presentation of the project during theMunich Logistic show in May of this year,Charm Offensive with the shipping CompaniesThe ITCO board agreed some furthermodification to the presentation and onceapproved we will arrange for a presentation to <strong>be</strong>made during the Munich Logistic Show.We will follow this up with personal visits toshipping companies on a one to one basis toexplain the presentation in more detail.China StudyGraham Wood and I visited Shanghai MaritimeUniversity January 12/15 and together withProfessor Song and Mr. Guy Bessant (Sasol)selected the two Chinese students who will carryout the actual study under the guidance of ProfSong.ITCO have signed a contract with the Universitywhich guarantees strict compliance with theEuropean, USA and Chinese Laws andregulations securing market competition andfurther guarantees the research results will <strong>be</strong>unbiased to any firms within or out of theindustry.My role in this project is to ensure it comes in ontime and on budget and we hope it will <strong>be</strong>completed and available in time to present at ourgeneral meeting in Octo<strong>be</strong>r 2009.Carbon Footprint studyThis project is now underway and it is expectedto take 7/8 weeks to complete provided we canget all the detailed input that LCP will need.I am pleased to advise that Cor Mol (HoyerGlobal) has agreed to act as project leader goingforward which I am sure will help to projectgreatly.The ITCO board will invite Prof Braithwaite ofLCP to make a presentation at the Munich showgive the findings of this project which we all hopewill prove the tank containers have a very greenfootprint compared to other modes when movingbulk liquids.www.itco.<strong>be</strong> Feb, 2009 ITCO President Report 2 1 / 2


Munich Logistic ShowWilly Freson has done a good job again this yearin making the arrangements for MunichAs already advised, this year we will have anITCO Meeting area which will also <strong>be</strong> used forour three presentations , two on the Wednesdayand one on the Thursday.We hope that these presentations will encouragecustomers and suppliers to come and visit theITCO <strong>Tank</strong> <strong>Container</strong> Village and listen to someof the advantages using tank containers and bringthem to their logistic supply chains.The ITCO party will <strong>be</strong> partly sponsored byHoyerITCO board meeting Brussels February 4th2009Minutes of this meeting will <strong>be</strong> made available onour web-site for mem<strong>be</strong>rs only within the nextweek or so.ITCO General Meeting Oct 2009It was agreed that taking into account the currentworld financial conditions the next ITCO generalmeeting in Octo<strong>be</strong>r 2009 will <strong>be</strong> held in Brusselsand not Nice.Willy Freson will advise the actual dates(expected Octo<strong>be</strong>r 20/21) when he has selectedthe hotel to <strong>be</strong> used.RegardsReginald LeePresident ITCOwww.itco.<strong>be</strong> Feb, 2009 ITCO President Report 2 2 / 2
