Tbilisi international Film Festival takes place for the eighth time this year and it is a result of all-out eff orts of<br />
the festival organizers and supporters. Our festival has never hosted so many guests and there have never been so<br />
many fi lms in the festival program. Tbilisi 8th International Film Festival off ers to cine amateurs and fi lm professionals<br />
diverse program, several shows of new production, special shows, exhibitions, master classes conducted<br />
by famous professionals, meetings and other interesting events.<br />
Contest program of the festival is especially interesting so far as the directors taking part in this event present<br />
their fi rst or second fi lms. Cash prizes have been established for the fi rst time and will be awarded to the winners<br />
of golden and silver Prometheus.<br />
Th e Festival may take special pride in composition of the international jury headed by a German director Ulriche<br />
Otingher, and the guests. Th e most distinguished guest of the Festival is prominent American director Bob Rafelson.<br />
His master class promises Georgian audience to be among the most interesting events of the Festival.<br />
I hope that the festival will attract many fi lm-goers whom I wish pleasant days along with all the participants of<br />
the festival.<br />
