The Confederation Bridge stretches 13 km across theNorthumberland Strait, connecting Prince Edward Island to New Brunswick. No place in the province ismore than 16 km from the sea. Prince Edward Island is the smallest province of Canada, but with apopulation of 140,000 people it has the highest population density of any Canadian province.The province is known as the “Garden of the Gulf” as 90% of the land is arable. It is a low level islandand has red sandy clay which is excellent for agriculture.The province’s main industries are agriculture, tourism, fishing and forestry.
