Chapel <strong>of</strong> the Resurrection -<strong>Valparaiso</strong> UniversityWorld's Largest College Chapel<strong>Valparaiso</strong> University was established in 1859 asNorthern <strong>Indiana</strong> Normal School. It had the largestnormal school enrollment in America in 1876. TheLutheran University Association purchased the schooland named it <strong>Valparaiso</strong> University in 1925. Todaymore than 5,000 full-time and part-time students attendthe university.The photo editors and committee members acknowledgethe important role <strong>of</strong> the churches in the growth<strong>of</strong> <strong>Valparaiso</strong>. In a conscientious effort not to overlook any denomination, individual church pictures wereomitted.Twenty-seven churches, representing eighteen denominations,are actively supported by <strong>Valparaiso</strong>'schurch-going community.LOWENSTINES
