Scheller Named Alumni Club Volunteer <strong>of</strong> the YearDean Edward A. Snyder presented Raul Scheller, ’95, with the 2002 AlumniClub Volunteer <strong>of</strong> the Year award at the Business Forecast Dinner inLos Angeles last January. <strong>The</strong> award, established in 2001, honors a graduatefor service to the <strong>Chicago</strong> GSB alumni community. In his remarks,Snyder said Scheller “embodies alumni involvement.”Scheller, who became president <strong>of</strong> the Los Angeles alumni chapter inJanuary 2001, worked with the presidents <strong>of</strong> other business school alumnichapters in the area to provide a broader spectrum <strong>of</strong> opportunities to<strong>Chicago</strong> GSB graduates. In 2001, he initiated the first meeting <strong>of</strong> what wasto become the M.B.A. Alumni Alliance <strong>of</strong> Southern California. <strong>The</strong> groupnow has 15 council members and reaches at least 20,000 business schoolalumni in Los Angeles. Chapters Host Record-Breaking Regional Business ForecastsAlumni chapters worldwide drewrecord crowds to their 2003 BusinessForecast events during the winter.From Boston to Brussels, the 10forecasts gave alumni a chance tohear economic predictions fromRobert Z. He and Caroline Karr, ’88, associate dean <strong>of</strong>alumni affairs and special events, attended graduationceremonies both in Barcelona and Singapore.
