Introduction to Hair Stylist• Classes are mandatory. An absence will be excused with a Doctor’snote, although repeated absences may depict otherwise.• Students should expect homework weekly in order to keep theirgrades up.• Long-term projects and assignments will be introduced and workedon in class and at home.• Due dates will be fair and strictly enforced.• Current grades are posted regularly through Blackboard.• Your class Blackboard site includes many of the assignments,assignment due dates, the current grades, and a variety ofother helpful information.

Introduction to Hair StylistBuilding Rules and Policies• Fire alarm- should the alarm sound while you arehere you are to:Immediately exit the building via the closest exit and waituntil it safe to return into the building• Code green- should this code be called the responseis the same as if it were a fire alarm• Code red- should this code be called you are toremain in your classroom (if in the halls go to yournearest classroom) stay quiet and follow teachersdirections


Introduction to Hair Stylist• Parking- there is no on-site parking atConfederation Learning Center forStudents• Parking is available “free of charge” on afirst come first serve basis BEHIND theNepean Sportsplex.• If you park on school property you may getticketed and/or towed


Introduction to Hair StylistBuilding Rules and Policies• Lockers-are issued free of charge by your programCoordinator• Lockers need to be emptied at the end of each level• Students who withdraw from forfeit the use of a locker• When your program is complete you must remove all thecontents of your locker on or before your last day ofclasses• Failure to empty your locker will result in lock beingremoved and contents disposed of• The college is not responsible for any lost or stolen items


Introduction to Hair StylistLocker Tips……• Students should not store perishables, offensive items, money orvaluables in their locker.• Lockers should be secured with a suitable lock when not in use.• Students should obtain independent insurance or confirm coverageunder an existing insurance policy to cover the risk of loss ordamage to their property while on the <strong>College</strong> premises, which willinclude items stored in lockers.• If you are assigned a locker and find that there is already a lock onit, please notify your Program Coordinator, to arrange to have itremoved. Be sure to bring valid photo id and your own lock.


Introduction to Hair Stylist• Lunch Room - It is used by 100 students on a given day.FRIDGE• Please remember• to label all containers and bags.• remove unused items at the end of each day• Frozen items can stay overnight, but please label 1 st and last name• THE FRIDGE IS COMPLETELY CLEANED OUT EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT….ALLFOOD AND CONTAINERS ARE THROWN AWAY…NO EXCEPTIONSMICROWAVE• Please Remember• To clean up your own messes in and around microwave• Don’t bring offensive smelling food as it lingers in the whole schoolexample. FISH• Don’t use the kettle and microwave at the same time…it blows afuse…sorry!
