September 1, 2002Dear Hotel Associate,To ensure the Sabre system continues to perform at a high level, Sabre has undertaken a project to updatethe current hotel property point of interest index system (HCC Table). Please review the attachednotification describing the changes in Sabre’s approach to the update.Implementation dates are as follows:ProjectImplementation Date REFERENCE POINT TABLE UPDATE RE-DEFINITIONSEPT. 1, 2002 PHOTO UPLOAD TOOL DISCLAIMER IMMEDIATEIf you have any questions concerning the impact these changes may have to your reservations system, please contact your Sabre account manager.Thank you for your attention,Hotel Product HostSabre Hotel Product Marketing and Distribution

1. REFERENCE POINT TABLE CLEAN-UPOn March 30, 2002, Sabre announced its discontinuance of the HCC reference point table for US locations. When the project is complete, the entire Sabre reference point system in the US will be geocoded, and allnon-geocoded reference points will be removed from the database. A key benefit of this project is that youwill no longer need to add reference points to your property description information (HODs) forgeocoded US based properties. After the update is complete for the US, Sabre will focus on other regionsof the world.BackgroundWith the release of hotel geo searching in 2001, Sabre added 2 million points of interest for North America,Canada, and Western Europe to the HCC Table. Currently the HCC Table includes both the new geocodedreference points and “legacy” reference points (those points added by Sabre customer service at the requestof the Hotel Associate). Many points of interest are represented multiple times in the table, which isconfusing to system users and impacts system performance. By updating the HCC table, Sabre canimprove shopping and response time, and increase the efficiency and accuracy of the Hotel product. How does this new effort affect your day-to-day operations?Associates may only index properties to a geocoded reference point. When you submit a newproperty through the Sabre queue or HOTBUILD mask, you will still request indexing to a primaryairport and up to 4 additional reference points. Those reference points must be already geocodedwithin Sabre.Example: If you wish to index your property to Six Flags amusement park in Arlington, TX:STEP ACTION1 Obtain the correct state or country codeHCCTEXAS2 Search for reference points by entering the first four letters of the listing or by entering the firstletter onlyHCCTX*SIX _ (_BLANK IS A CHARACTER)HCCTX*S3 Select the GEOCODED POINT from the listHCCTX*SIX«TEXAS1 TX SIX FLAGS2 TX SIX FLAGS ARLINGTON3 TX SIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS *GEOCODED POINT*4 Submit the geocoded reference point with your new build requestIf you request an index point that Sabre does not have geocoded with a new build request, Sabre willbuild the HOD, however the reference point will not be added and you will receive a queue messageindicating the reason.Keep in mind that once a property is geocoded, it is immediately indexed to all geocoded pointsin Sabre. Once Sabre has geocoded a property you no longer need to maintain that property’sreference point table.Until further notice, Associates should continue to maintain reference point indexing (HOX) fornon-geocoded properties. As of September 1, 2002 Associates may submit points of interests (POI) to Sabre that you wishgeocoded. This is an EXCELLENT opportunity to get your preferred POI’s into the Sabre Geocoded

database. If you would like Sabre to add a POI to the HCC Table, you must provide the full address soSabre can attempt to geocode.Submit the request via the following E-services site:http://hoteleservices.sabre.comLocate the Point of Interest Submission page .NOTE: in addition to the United States, requests for POI’s with in the following countrieswill also be supported through the new services tool and no longer be supported through thequeue process: Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Spain, FranceUnited Kingdom, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Sweden . All other regions of theworld may still be requested through the queue process, QP/XAHG.Requests will be processed within 5-10 business days. Uploading into Sabre will occur by closeof business on the 15 th and 30 th of each month or the Friday prior should the date fall on aweekend or holiday..Check to see if the Index Point you are submitting does not already exist in the current Tabletagged GEOCODED POINT. If it already exists, do not resubmit. If it exists but without thetag, submit the request with correct name and street address, city, state, zip.City requests must be accompanied by a city center location also defined by streetaddress, state, zip. If Sabre cannot geocode the reference point it will be rejected, and you will receive an emailresponse indicating the reason. For the purpose of submitting POI’s for the United States table cleanup effort, the followinginformation is required. For United States Reference point submissions, the request MUST contain the SPECIFIC andPROPER NAME, and COMPLETE ADDRESS in the following format:THE ADDRESS CONSISTS OF 3 LINESWITH 30 CHARACTERS ALLOWED PER LINE.1. ADDRESS LINE 1--Make certain there is a street address for the facility.PO Boxes are not allowed.Intersections are not allowedUse numerals for the street number as opposed to spelling out the numberE.G. -2- NOT -TWO-.Street name should not be abbreviatedAbbreviations are okay for street typeE.G.
