Thetraining took place at Canadia Bank training center,on the 15th floor of Canadia Tower. Topics coveredincludes chip implementation, detailed discussionon interface & EMV transaction flow, acquirerimpacts, issuer impacts, EMV migration, acquirerpreparation, migration impact on back office andfront office, understanding the impact of chip onATM from the acquirer perspective as well as theacquirer testing process. The purpose of this training was to enhanceacquirer’s awareness on what to expect beforeand after full migration of EMV Technologyto ATM. Relevant Bank staffs from variousdepartments including IT, Card Center, ATM, RiskManagement, Centralized Operations, InternalAudit, Marketing, Deposit Products and MerchantServices departments were invited to participatein this training, to be well informed and alerted onhow this migration will impact their scope of work.During the training, Mr. Chin explained that one ofthe main differences between EMV and magstripecard is that with EMV card, fraudsters could onlycrack one card and not the whole pack and to crackthis one card, it requires more timethan it wouldotherwise for magstripe card. And once they aresuccessful with stealing the card info, they will notbe able to obtain the PIN to unlock the card. WithEMV card, to perform a transaction, the card hasto be present throughout the transaction while themagstripe cards don’t. This also assists loweringthe number of fraudulent acts. In addition, thereis a chip in front of EMV card and the magstripeon the back; and with this chip, it allows us toprogram the card to performwhat you instructed itto do, while the magstripe cards doesn’t.Mr. Chin also stressed that it is very importantthat acquirers get the Letter of Approval (LoA)fromvendors for purchased inventories, including theATM machines and unembossed cards, as thesewill ensure that the models of ATM machines andcards are up-to-date and hence its security. Mr.Chin also explained how to identify expiry dateon the LoA and how many times we can renew itonce expired. He stated that every new producthas a three-year expiry date and normally vendorscould renew 2 months before its expiry date withMasterCard. Renewal is only good for one year andyou could renew the product up to four times only. When you reach the end of the renewal cycle, itwill say, “End-of-Life product” on the LoA.The training went successfully. There were a lot ofuseful knowledge gained including different testcases and hints to perform quality tests prior tosubmitting the results to MasterCard for Certificate.Mr. Chin delivered a “Completion Certificate” toeach participant and took pictures at the end ofday two training. Both enterprises and applicants mainlydepend on the recruitment officersThe selected candidates have to meet theenterprises or companies’ requirements andpositions. Only this, will the recruitment meetthe company’s demand and help increasethe company’s productivity. This means thatrecruitment officers have key responsibilities inboth enterprises and applicants, because theyare the key persons to influence the productivityof enterprises and applicants’ impression on theenterprises; and this could be achieved throughselecting qualified candidates for the positions. To recognize whether applicants are the potentialcandidates for the companies, it is suggestedthat the recruitment officers utilize appropriatetechniques and strategies. The recruitment officersnot only rely on applicants’ work experience, socialcommunication, vision, and intelligence but alsothe real job specification of the companies.According to some companies’ requirements, the recruitment officers use their own capacitiesand experiences (Social and Job experience) torecruit the candidates. This recruitment sometimesrevealed the partiality, irresponsibility, self-ego,and lack of judgment of the recruiters which thenlead to employing disqualified candidates whodid not match the companies’ requirements andpositions.3. The collaboration between RecruitmentTeam of Human Resource Departmentwith the Recruiting departmentsThe selected candidates have to meet bothrequirements by Human Resources departmentand recruiting departments.
