Blending the AC and RC bringsstrength to the force and is an important partof the <strong>Navy</strong>’s ability to carry out the NavalMaritime Strategy from blue water into greenand brown water and in direct support of the Joint Force. The <strong>Navy</strong> Reserve trainsand equips 51% of Sailors supporting NECC missions, including Naval constructionand explosive ordance disposal in the CENTCOM AOR as emphasis shifts from Iraqto Afghanistan, as well as maritime expeditionary security, expeditionary logistics(cargo handling battalions), maritime civil affairs, expeditionary intelligence, andother mission capabilities seamlessly integrated with operational forces around theworld.The FY 2011 budget includes the establishment of a new RC riverine trainingsquadron which will compliment the three existing AC riverine squadrons. Thefourth riverine squadron will increase the riverine capacity to conduct brown watertraining and partnership activities in order to meet COCOM demands.4‐24 FY 2011 Department of the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Budget</strong>
