In FY 2011, the Reserve Components will continueto contribute significantly to the effectiveness of the <strong>Navy</strong> Total Force. The <strong>Navy</strong>and Marine Corps Reserve budgets support the day‐to‐day costs of operatingReserve Component forces and maintaining assigned equipment at a state ofreadiness that will permit rapid deployment in the event of full or partialmobilization and meet fleet operational support requirements. This budget ensuresthe RC remains “Ready Now. Anytime, Anywhere.”The Department’s RC operating forces consist of aircraft, ships, combat equipmentand support units, and their associated weapons. Our vision is to be a provider ofchoice for essential naval warfighting capabilities and expertise, strategically alignedwith mission requirements and valued for our readiness, innovation, and agility toany situation. The <strong>Navy</strong> and Marine Corps Reserve end‐of‐year operating aircraftinventory totals 273 airframes in FY 2011. The <strong>Navy</strong> Reserve ship inventory will endthe year at seven Battle Force ships, as two frigates are decommissioned (USS Booneand USS Stephen W. Groves). In addition, funding is used to operate and maintainFY 2011 Department of the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Budget</strong> 4‐19
