February 2010Protecting Readiness to Meet Today’s Challengesbattlespace awareness, and force application capabilities to the Fleet and COCOMs.TACAIR integration ensures that <strong>Navy</strong> and Marine Corps units are effectivelyincorporated in the CVWs and MAGTFs to achieve maximum force applicationcapabilities at sea, land and air. ASW squadrons locate, destroy, and provide forcesupport and command and control capabilities while conducting maritimesurveillance operations. FAS squadrons provide consistent and vital fleet logisticsand battlespace awareness capabilities. The Marine Corpsmaintains a level of readiness of T‐2.0 throughout pre‐ and post‐deployment periodsas well as while forward deployed in support of the MAGTF. By maintaining thesereadiness levels, the <strong>Navy</strong> and the Marine Corps stand ready to provide forceapplication capabilities to the COCOMs when required.
