Revitalizing the Force Ashore February 2010Additionally, NWCF R&D activities have been at the forefront of implementing<strong>Navy</strong> ERP. <strong>Navy</strong> ERP came on‐line at Naval Air Warfare Center in FY 2008. Spaceand Naval Warfare Systems Centers went live in FY 2010.• Space and Naval Warfare SystemCenters provide fleet support forcommand, control, and communicationsystems, and ocean surveillance, andthe integration of those systems thatoverarch platforms. The currentestimate reflects the impact of the BaseRealignment and Closure Vrecommendation to consolidatemaritime command, control, communications, computers, intelligence,surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) research, development and acquisition,test and evaluation functions.• Naval Air Warfare Center provides fleet support for naval aircraft, engines,avionics, aircraft support systems and ship/shore/air operations. This budgetreflects the realignment of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training SystemsDivision (NAWCTSD) from mission funding to the NWCF beginning in FY 2011.NAWCTSD provides a full range of innovative training solutions, products, andservices. Their core competencies include requirements analysis, systemsengineering, systems acquisition, fielding and sustainment over the trainingsystems life cycle. Customers include <strong>Navy</strong>, Army, Air Force, Department ofDefense, and Coast Guard.• Naval Surface Warfare Center provides fleet support for hull, mechanical, andelectrical systems, surface combat systems, coastal warfare systems, and otheroffensive and defensive systems associated with surface warfare.• Naval Undersea Warfare Center provides fleet support for submarines,autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive systemsassociated with undersea warfare.• Naval Research Laboratory operates as the <strong>DON</strong>’s full spectrum corporatelaboratory, conducting a broadly based multidisciplinary program of scientificresearch and advanced technological development directed toward maritimeapplications of new and improved materials, techniques, equipment, systems,and ocean, atmospheric, and space sciences and related technologies.6‐14 FY 2011 Department of the <strong>Navy</strong> <strong>Budget</strong>
