Appendix – Strategic plan<br />
• increasing the number of PhD and MSc stu<strong>de</strong>nts within the research programs contracted by the<br />
teachers;<br />
• ensuring the financial support for permanent or in<strong>de</strong>finite full time research positions;<br />
• ensuring the financial support for the priority research projects, or the co-financing;<br />
• increasing the participation of the university’s members to professional associations in the country,<br />
including as members of ASAS and / or Romanian Aca<strong>de</strong>my;<br />
• supporting public scientific conferences presented by our aca<strong>de</strong>mic staff in the community benefit;<br />
• increasing the impact of the research on the educational process by integrating the its outcomes<br />
and results within the lectures and laboratory applications;<br />
• involving university staff in the European scientific expert <strong>evaluation</strong>s comities and boards;<br />
• increasing the visibility of university’s teachers and researchers by participating in activities and in<br />
the boards of associations, aca<strong>de</strong>mia and international scientific organizations, as recognition of<br />
their scientific prestige.<br />
For a permanent increase in the quality of scientific production, the objectives achievement will be<br />
ensured by the following actions:<br />
• stimulating the permanent increase in the number of publications in ISI scientific journals with<br />
impact factor and score of influence, and of the number of citations of the scientific papers having<br />
authors from our university;<br />
• ensuring the financial support for teachers to publish articles in ISI publications with impact factor<br />
and score of influence, to fulfill the eligibility criteria for programs I<strong>de</strong>as and Partnerships;<br />
• stimulating the participation to scientific events in the country and abroad, with original papers or<br />
as mo<strong>de</strong>rator, visiting lecturer and member of scientific board;<br />
• organizing the Annual International Symposium “Prospects for the Third millennium agriculture”<br />
and increase the international visibility of the four specific university’s Bulletins;<br />
• increase the visibility and impact factor above 0.5 of the main journal published by the university,<br />
"Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj";<br />
• increase the Library book fund and establishing of an electronic library;<br />
• encouraging the teachers who have valuable publications, to apply for awards and distinctions<br />
(ANCS, ASAS, Romanian Aca<strong>de</strong>my, etc.).<br />
The implementation of these actions is within the responsibility of the Vice-rector for research and the<br />
Vice-rector responsible for quality assurance and human resources.<br />
4.3. INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT<br />
Among the main actions to achieve these strategic objectives for the infrastructure <strong>de</strong>velopment we point<br />
out the following actions:<br />
• completion and inauguration of the new “Advanced Horticultural Research Institute of<br />
Transylvania” (ICHAT);<br />
• completion of the new <strong>de</strong>sign project for the “Institute of Nutrition and Pathology of large animals”<br />
(INP) and launching of the infrastructure project;<br />
• completion and inauguration of the “Didactical and Research Biobase for Animal Husbandry”;<br />
