The main activities performed during the project implementation:<br />

Appendix – Long life learning programs<br />

• Developing the strategy for setting-up a sustainable Training and Information Centre (TIC) in North-West<br />

and Central Region of Romania within the University of Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca<br />

- to serve as a professional training provi<strong>de</strong>r for the institutions subordinated to the Romanian Ministry of<br />

agriculture, forests and rural <strong>de</strong>velopment (MAPDR)<br />

The participants attending the courses organized during the implementatrion of the project by the Training<br />

and Information Centre within the University of Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca:<br />

• 420 specialists in extension and agricultural consultancy, over 21 courses for a term of 21 days<br />

• 120 food safety inspectors, over 6 courses for a term of 10 days<br />

• 40 agricultural researchers, over 2 courses for a term of 5 days<br />

The professional training courses provi<strong>de</strong>d by Training and Information Centre of Cluj-Napoca were focued on<br />

presenting mo<strong>de</strong>rn production technologies, the economic aspects of management and marketing, and<br />

presenting the regulations and requirements established both at the EU and national level. There are also<br />

inclu<strong>de</strong>d the regional specific priorities for the North West Region and the Centrum Region. The training<br />

courses aimed the specialists in extension and agricultural consultancy, the food safety inspectors, and the<br />

agricultural researchers, from the North West Region and the Centrum Region of Romania.<br />
