<strong>Glidex</strong>Lubricant detergent-biocideINNOVATIONS IN CHEMISTRYProduct InformationDescription and application<strong>Glidex</strong> is a transparent, semi-viscous, odourless, lubricant-detergent and disinfectant liquid.<strong>Glidex</strong> is a water miscible bottling line and general lubricant with cleaning, sanitising and free-rinsingproperties.Features and benefits• <strong>Glidex</strong> was developed through consultative research with the wine industry.• It quickly becomes miscible in water reducing any mixing time.• <strong>Glidex</strong> can be used either as a concentrate for lubrication, or diluted with water as required for your bottlingline system.• This product has Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) benefits and considers HACCP issues; No toxic or noxious vapours are emitted whilst the product is in use,In aqueous solution preparation it can be added to water or water added to it without anyreactivity danger,This product is non-dangerous chemical for handling, transport and storage.• <strong>Glidex</strong> can be used with any type of bottling line conveyor slat lubrication system in either an aqueousdiluted periodic spray, or slat through bath system.• It has low to moderate foaming properties.• Any foam is quickly dispersed during the water rinse cycle.• When the equipment is rinse-washed for cleaning, any organic soil deposits such as wine protein andcolour are quickly removed.• <strong>Glidex</strong> is non-corrosive on all surfaces, including concrete, ceramic and poly-tiles and polymer coatings.• It does not build-up on surfaces to which it is applied .• After the clean water rinse, all of the contacted surfaces are clean, sanitised and are spot and streakfree, free of chloride residue, odourless and pH neutral.• Prevents any lime-scale build on equipment, and if there is any present eventually removes it over timewith continued use.• This product has environmental benefits;Waste-water solutions are safer for waterways as they contain no salt, phosphate or chlorine,The product is highly biodegradable (< 30 days), and is expected not to bio-accumulate in thesoil, or persist in aquatic environments.Wine Industry Support Enterprises Pty Ltd © Page 3 of 11

<strong>Glidex</strong>Lubricant detergent-biocideINNOVATIONS IN CHEMISTRYProduct InformationDirections for usePRE-COMMENCEMENT INFORMATIONWater‘Hard’ water may demand more chemical if <strong>Glidex</strong> is to be diluted in water for your system. Potable or rain wateris the optimum.Water temperatureUsually used as a concentrate, but for dilution, water temperature to approx. 25°C is acceptable. Hot water maycause foaming. The viscosity of <strong>Glidex</strong> will be reduced in an aqueous solution as well as some of the lubricatingproperties.Chemical dosage rate (w/v)Use undiluted in your system or dilute with clean water to your requirements.CHEMICAL DOSING & MIXING PROCEDURESLiquid into water–Chemical insertion method. To prepare an aqueous <strong>Glidex</strong> solution, calculate and measure out the quantity required, and then add it to thewater in your dosing or holding tank.To minimise foaming, carefully and gently agitate the aqueous solution with a perforated disc or paddle tohomogenise.PrecautionsRead all of the Material Safety Data before using this product. We advocate that care is taken when using any chemical products.• Wear appropriate rubber gloves and safety glasses, at all times whilst handling and using this product.• Do not immerse hands in this product, or solutions of this product for long, continuous periods of time.• Avoid contact with the eyes.• Keep out of the reach of children.Packaging, storage and handlingPackaging5kg HDPE bottle with tamper-evident cap. 15kg carton.200kg HDPE dual bung fixed head drumOrder Code - NLL115Order Code - NLL1200This product is provided with a production Certificate of Analysis.StorageStore in a dry, cool place, out of sunlight and away from other chemicals and foodstuffs. To maintain your product in good condition, replace and seal any lids or caps on containers after each use.HandlingHandle with care so not to damage the container or the product label and its information.Do not place any unused product back into the main container if it has been diluted with water at any time orleft uncovered for any length of time.Wine Industry Support Enterprises Pty Ltd © Page 4 of 11

Do not inducevomiting. If vomiting occurs, wash out mouth with water, provided victim is conscious.Seek immediate Medical attention if the symptoms persist. Not expected to be a source of exposure, but may be a source of irritation. If a person becomes a victim, remove any contaminated clothing. Wash affected areawith soap and water. If irritation persists or if swelling, redness blistering or burningoccurs seek immediate Medical attention. Wash any contaminated clothing before reuse.Vapours or mists may irritate the mucous membranes & respiratory tract. If a person is affected by the vapour remove the victim away from the source of exposureto a position of fresh air. Allow the victim to assume the most comfortable position.Seek immediate Medical attention if symptoms persist.Treat symptomatically, according to the judgement of a doctor and the patient’s reactionto this product.Section 5Specific hazardsFire-fighting adviceExtinguishing mediaFire fighting measuresThis product is stable when stored in a dry, cool place. This liquid is combustible, andmay form flammable mixtures with air. It will produce propionaldehyde on decomposition.Combustible liquid. Vapour forms an explosive mixture in air in confined spaces.Fires involving this product should be extinguished with media appropriate to surroundingfire conditions.Firefighters should wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatusif they risk exposure to vapours of combustion products. On burning may emit toxic fumes including those of carbon monoxide. If possible, move containers away from the path of any fire.Keep the containers cool with water spray. If any containers rupture from heat or fire, and this chemical spills onto hard surfaces, then the surfaces will become very slippery. If this material is involved in a fire use foam, dry agent or water spray to keep thecontainers cool.Wine Industry Support Enterprises Pty Ltd © Page 7 of 11
