Data collected by UNWTO is generally based on arrivals reported by destination countries and not on trips from source markets. As
one trip can produce arrivals in more than one destination. arrivals had to be converted to trips by using assumptions on the average
number of arrivals per trip. This conversion factor varied between 1.01 (i.e. from any region to North Africa) and 1.50 (i.e.from Americas
to Western Europe) based on the probability of multi destination trips for a certain subregion.
Arrival with origin not specified have been divided over the various regions by ratio.
