PREAMBLE EUROINVENT 2009 PREAMBULPREAMBLEWith the occasion of the <strong>Europe</strong>an Year of Creativity and Innovation,Romanian Inventors Forum in partnership with EUROPE DIRECT Centre Iaşi,through it’s host: Association for Ecology and Sustainable Development and Centre for<strong>Europe</strong>an Studies of the „Al.I.Cuza” University of <strong>Iasi</strong> are organizing the first editionof <strong>Europe</strong>an Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation EUROINVENT, which willtake place between 7 and 9 May 2009, in „Sala Paşilor Pierduti” (Lost Steps Hall) of„Al.I.Cuza” University of <strong>Iasi</strong>.While the economic crisis continues to get worse, creativity and innovation arethe key to strengthening <strong>Europe</strong>'s development. Creativity and innovation contribute toeconomic prosperity as well as to social and individual wellbeing.The objective of the <strong>Europe</strong>an Year of Creativity and Innovation is to raiseawareness on the importance of creativity and innovation for personal, social andeconomic development, for dissemination of good practices, stimulation of education andresearch, and promotion of the policy debate and development.(http://create2009.europa.eu)Romanian Inventors Forum (FIR – http://www.afir.org.ro), as a professionalassociation of dialog and representation, has the purpose to support, stimulate, developand valorize the scientifical, technical and artistic creativity. Under the aegis of FIR,Romanian Inventors have participated at more than 50 World Invention Exhibitions,where their creations have been awarded with honorary orders, prizes and medals. Theperformance of Romanian Inventors is well known in the whole world, being the mainreason for which FIR became member in different international clubs, associations andfederations, with special contributions.The Centre for <strong>Europe</strong>an Studies (CSE) of “Al.I.Cuza” University of <strong>Iasi</strong>, as<strong>Europe</strong>an Documentation Centre (EDC) organizes academic programs for education,research and consultancy in order to promote <strong>Europe</strong>an values, contributing to theenhancement and awareness of <strong>Europe</strong>an Policies and the ways that these can affectcitizens’ life and civilization level.The Association for Ecology and Sustainable Development is the host for theInformation Centre of <strong>Europe</strong>an Commission “EUROPE DIRECT” Iaşi. The EUROPEDIRECT Centre Iaşi assures the <strong>Europe</strong>an information transfer to Romanian citizens andthe feedback to the E.C., enhancing dialog between <strong>Europe</strong>an institutions and thecommon citizen concerning to all <strong>Europe</strong>an policies and the personal expectations.The Exhibition will promote the <strong>Europe</strong>an and Romanian creativity in an<strong>Europe</strong>an context, by displaying the contributions of consecrated schools of highereducation and academic research and also of individual inventors.In this way, researchers and inventors from our country, from <strong>Europe</strong>, Orientand I.S.C. countries through the associations, foundations or institutions specialized ondevelopment and creativity will participate at this event.Considering the interdisciplinarity of Inventics as science, this is describednowadays as an integrated system (education – research – production) with formative andresearch purposes, which greatly attracts young people, and contributes to the increase inthe performance level of the inventors and of the policy-makers and the productionsector.President,Prof.univ.dr.
