6800: International Business<br />

<strong>The</strong> dynamic changes in the world's physical, political, economic, and cultural environments<br />

are resulting in threats to the well being <strong>of</strong> both individuals and organizations, as<br />

well as creating totally new market opportunities for business firms and enterprises.<br />

<strong>The</strong> challenge is to effectively compete in the global marketplace as it exists today and<br />

develops tomorrow. This academic program views international business in the broad<br />

context <strong>of</strong> all business transactions devised and carried out across national borders to<br />

satisfy the organizational and personal goals <strong>of</strong> firms and individuals. International business<br />

studies incorporate all <strong>of</strong> the functional business operations <strong>of</strong> accounting, finance,<br />

management, and marketing; as such, it is an integrative field <strong>of</strong> study within an international<br />

framework. Given the growth and complexity <strong>of</strong> international business activities<br />

and practices, career opportunities are available and rewarding.<br />

<strong>The</strong> International Business major must complete 1) the General Education program<br />

requirements, 2) the Pre-Business program requirements, 3) the College <strong>of</strong> Business<br />

Administration Core requirements, 4) the required courses within the International<br />

Business major, and 5) the elective courses within the International Business major.<br />

To receive a Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Science in Business Administration/International Business each<br />

student must successfully complete all <strong>of</strong> the course requirements outlined in each <strong>of</strong><br />

the three required categories and one <strong>of</strong> the optional categories listed below.<br />
