Out of the Earth: Ecocritical Readings of Irish Texts edited
by Christine Cusick was published in response to the growing
interest in Ecocritism.
After the Irish: an Anthology of Poetic Translation edited by
Gregory A. Schirmer demonstrates that verse translation from
the Irish represents, in its own right, a significant part of the
tradition of Irish poetry written in English.
Revolution in Ireland: Popular Militancy, 1917 to 1923 by
Conor Kostick was republished as a second edition.
Nine general interest titles were published:
A Quiet Man Miscellany by UCC’s Des MacHale.
Eat Good Things Everyday by Carmel Somers from the Good
Things Café in West Cork.
Truly Tasty: over 100 special recipes created by Ireland’s top
chefs for adults living with kidney disease. Each recipe has
been expertly analysed by dieticians from the Irish Nutrition and
Dietetic Institute, ensuring that it can be easily incorporated into
the renal diet.
The Compassionate Intentions of Illness and Relationship,
Relationship, Relationship: The Heart of a Mature Society
by Helen Ruddle and Tony Humphreys, who is one of Ireland’s
leading psychologists.
Flown the Nest by Hanna Greally. It was assumed that this
manuscript was irretrievably lost and its discovery in 2008 was
astonishing, not least given the renewed interest in the author
arising from the republication of Hanna’s earlier work, Bird’s
Nest Soup.
Sisters: the Personal Story of an Irish Feminist (new edition)
by the late June Levine.
A Woman to Blame: the Kerry Babies Case (new edition) by
Nell McCafferty.
Gardening with Peter Dowdall: the Importance of the
Natural World was Cork University Press’s first gardening title.
It also tells the story of Peter’s ten-year battle with cancer and
the strength he drew from nature to help in his recovery.
