Walkers can see the collieryin its landscape setting, with its reclaimedtips of colliery waste and the old routesused to transport coal. The geography ofthe narrow, sheer-sided valley is seen at itsdramatic best from this route, while otherpoints of interest include the Darren y Pistyllwaterfall and the Gethin Terrace.This way-marked route, although short,includes a steep climb. It may be unevenand muddy in places and strong footwear isrecommended. The walk starts and finishesat the <strong>Rhondda</strong> Heritage Park’s free carpark.14
