Be sure to positionthe alignment pin on the cover with the notch in thewheel. Apply pressure around the edge of the cap tosnap it in place.Incorrect wheel nuts or improperly tightenedwheel nuts can cause the wheel to become looseand even come off. This could lead to an accident.Be sure to use the correct wheel nuts, If you haveto replace them, be sure to get new GM originalequipment wheel nuts.Stop somewhere as soon as you can and have thenuts tightened with a torque wrench to 100 lb-ft(140 Nom).I NOTICE:Wheel covers won’t fit on your compact spare. Ifyou try to put a wheel cover on your compactspare, you could damage the cover or the spare.Don’t try to put a wheel cover on your compact --,aretire. It won’t fit. Store the wheel cover in the trunnuntil you have the flat tire repaired or replaced.5-29
