All modulation within the Octopus is performed using envelopes. Envelopesare the key to modulating audio signals within the Octopus and can be usedto produce a wide range of modulation effects.Available modulation destinations include: Amplitude, Mix, Panning, Pitch,Frequency, Phase, Cutoff and Resonance. The Envelope Editor featuressophisticated editing capabilities that make working with it very fast andeasy. MIDI Controllers can also be used in combination with the Octopus’envelopes.The Envelope Matrix is used to set the actual destination of the envelope(for example, the amplitude of Oscillator 1). Available destinations includeall 8 Oscillators, the 2 Filters and the Sampler.Hopefully, this chapter has given you a brief overview of how the Octopusworks.
