GUIDELINES FOR RHS DANCESWE sponsor three major dances at <strong>Roseburg</strong> <strong>High</strong>:Homecoming, Nocturnal Revolution, and Prom, andoccasionally we have dances for a special cause. Ourdances are designed with fun in mind, as well to create asafe environment for students.Student <strong>School</strong> ID cards must be presented before astudent will be admitted to the dance. If you come tothe dance without an ID, you will have to wait until atleast 9 PM for a check to be done on <strong>School</strong>master. If astudent has lost their ID, they can make arrangements inthe main office to get another one before the dance.For Homecoming and Prom, guests from other schoolswill be allowed to attend with a student enrolled atRHS. However, the guests must register to get a guestpass in the main office and bring their school ID, or ifthey are not a student, they must have a current pictureID before they will be admitted. Guest passes must beapplied for one week in advance of the dance.Prom is for juniors and seniors only and their dates.Only RHS students are allowed to attend NocturnalRevolution or any other special dance.When students are admitted to the dances, they are notallowed to leave the dance unless they are leaving forthe evening. There are designated areas for students tosit outside, but once they leave the premises the dance isover for them.We encourage you to not bring any backpacks or pursesto a dance. If you bring backpacks or purses understandthey will be searched. If a student brings a backpack tothe dance, it will be searched at the door, taken from thestudent and be stored in a safe place until the dance isover. There will be a designated, supervised area forpurses, jackets and shoes.“The Bracelet”When you enter dances, you will receive a bracelet, whichyou will wear throughout the dance to identify that you havepaid and have been admitted. You should keep the braceleton your wrist all night unless: You have been identified by a chaperone as dancing inappropriately,at which time the bracelet will be taken fromyou and you will then be given one more time to danceappropriately. OR if you are identified as dancing inappropriately whenyou have lost your bracelet, you will be asked to leave thedance AND YOUR PARENTS WILL BE CALLED TOCOME GET YOU, OR TO NOTIFY THEM THAT YOUARE LEAVING.MANNERS to help you "KEEP YOUR BRACELETON!"As a reminder, inappropriate dancing is easily recognizableby those around you, as well as by you and your dance partner. NO MAKING OUT! NO GOOEY, LOVE STUFF! NO TOUCHING INAPPROPRIATELY. BODIES, FROMSHOULDERS TO KNEES, SHOULD NOT BE TOUCH-ING OTHER BODIES. HANDS NEED TO BE placedappropriately. EVERYTHING ELSE IS OFF LIMITS! NO DANCING THAT IS SEXUAL IN APPEARANCE!Dances are not a requirement of school. We want to supportthis fun activity. However, if there are inappropriate behaviorsdancing, the lights will be turned on for a song as a reminder.If the inappropriate dancing or behavior continues,there is a good chance that dances will no longer be an option.THESE ARE MANNERS FOR DANCING. THEY AREPOLITE GUIDELINES TO MAKE THE DANCES EN-JOYABLE FOR ALL STUDENTS AT RHS!!There are some special requirements listed belowfor each dance.Homecoming-Guys Preferred is semi-formal wear; collared shirts anddress slacks; nice jeans, no t-shirts-Girls Semi-formal dresses:No tight fitting, stretch dressesNo plunging necklinesIf the dress is strapless it must hold itself upBackless dresses can come no lower than midbackNo exposed midriffPreferred is that a dress does not have cut outs“Slits” in dresses may be no higher than 3” abovethe kneeDresses must be no shorter than 3” above thekneeNocturnal Revolution:-Guys No sleeveless t-shirts or tank topsShirts must be worn at all timesShorts, if worn, must be mid-thigh-Girls Shorts must be no shorter than mid thigh, unlesslegging/tights are worn underneathNo spaghetti strapsNo cut-up t-shirtsProm:-Guys Formal wear (collared shirt and slacks) required;no jeans or t-shirts permitted-Girls No short, tight fighting, stretch dressesNo plunging necklinesIf the dress is strapless, it must hold itself upBackless dresses can come no lower than midbackNo exposed midriffPreferred is that a dress does not have cut outs“Slits” in dresses may be no higher than 3”above the kneeShort dresses cannot be any shorter than 3”above the knee or longer
