Reference document: EIA-364-36, Test Procedure for Determination of Gas-Tight Characteristicsfor Electrical Connectors, Sockets and/or Contact Systems.b. Test Conditions:i. Class II--- Mated pairs of contacts assembled to their plastic housings.ii. Reagent grade Nitric Acid shall be used of sufficient volume to saturate the test chamberiii. The ratio of the volume of the test chamber to the surface area of the acid shall be 10:1.iv. The chamber shall be saturated with the vapor for at least 15 minutes before samples areadded.v. Exposure time, 55 to 65 minutes.vi. The samples shall be no closer to the chamber walls than 1 inches and no closer to thesurface of the acid than 3 inches.vii.
