PEOPLEModel student at workA young supervisor with theElectrical section at KeppelSingmarine, earned the Lee KuanYew Model Student/TraineeAward 2010 after completinghis two-year course in MarineElectrical Technology.Koh Chong Boon, 29, was oneof 40 students of the Instituteof Technical Education (ITE) whoreceived the Award for academicexcellence and leadership qualitieson 25 May 2010.During the first year of hisstudies at the ITE, ChongBoon was attached to KeppelO&M Group Training Centreto undergo an apprenticeshiptraining programme. Thereafter,he commenced with on-the-jobtraining at Keppel Singmarine inthe second year.This was not an easy feat forChong Boon, who had to jugglework and studies. He shared, “I amthankful to Keppel for encouragingme to upgrade my skills andnominating me to take up thiscourse.
