The plug can then be fittedto the production setting hole.10 Remove the height adjuster knob bycarefully inserting a small screwdriver into theaperture on the underside of the knob, andgently levering it off.11 Remove the anchor cover, again using ascrewdriver, then remove the anchor bolt andanchor (see illustration).12 Remove the door aperture weatherseal(s)around the B-pillar location, then remove theB-pillar trim, as described in Section 42.13 Remove the bolts securing the adjusterplate to the B-pillar, noting washer fitment,41.15 Rear seat belt and buckle securingarrangements (rear seat cushion removed)A Seat belt lower anchor retaining boltsB Centre lap belt/single buckle assemblysecuring boltC Dual buckle assembly securing bolt41.11 Removing a seat belt upper anchorcoverthen remove the adjuster plate from thevehicle (see illustration).Rear seat belts14 Remove the rear seat cushion, asdescribed in Section 40, then also remove theparcel shelf.15 Undo the bolt securing each seat beltbuckle assembly to its body location (seeillustration), and remove the buckleassemblies from the vehicle, as required.16 Prevent the retractor units from reeling intoo much seat belt by attaching a clothes pegor similar item to the belt, close to theretractor unit.17 Detach the seat belt lower anchor byremoving its retaining bolt.18 Remove the upper anchor bolt cover andundo the bolt securing the anchor to itslocation. Detach the anchor, noting anyspacer fitment.19 On vehicles fitted with a parcel shelf, remove the seat belt guide from the parcelshelf support/rear loudspeaker housing, thenpass the seat belt through it.20 On vehicles without a parcel shelf asstandard, remove the trim panel covering theseat belt retractor unit, where fitted, byundoing its retaining screws. Remove the seatbelt guide from the trim panel, then pass theseat belt through it.21 Remove the bolt securing the seat beltretractor unit to its body location, thenwithdraw the retractor unit and the seat beltfrom the vehicle.Refitting22 Refitting is a reversal of the removalprocedure, noting the following points. Ensurethat the tag on the retractor unit engages in itsbody location and, in the case of the rear seatbelts, that it does not trap the wiring loombetween itself and the body. Having fitted theupper anchor to its location, ensure that it canrotate freely. The stalk assembly anchor(s)must engage to the anti-rotation floorpin(s)and, when refitting a rear centre lapbelt/buckle assembly, the lap belt must befitted to lie on the right-hand side of thevehicle. Tighten all bolts to their specifiedtorque.
