Where electric window switches arefitted, reconnect the switch wiring multi-plugsbefore fitting the panel.8 If necessary, refit the clip to the windowregulator h<strong>and</strong>le, then refit the h<strong>and</strong>le to theregulator shaft by pushing it on. The clipshould engage positively, in the annulargroove on the shaft.9 Refit the door stowage pocket/speakergrille moulding, armrest/doorpull <strong>and</strong> doorinterior release h<strong>and</strong>le bezel, as applicable, byreversing the method of removal.10 Refit the interior weatherstrip to itslocation, tapping it down into position, beingcareful not to bend or kink it. On front doors, itwill be necessary to slide its forward edgeunder the door mirror trim before tapping intoposition.22 Side door lock, lock cylinder<strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>les - removal <strong>and</strong>refitting2Exterior h<strong>and</strong>leRefitting5 Refitting is a reversal of the removalprocedure. On completion, re-secure the PVCsheet then refit the inner trim panel asdescribed in Section 21.Door lock barrelRemoval6 Remove the door inner trim panel, asdescribed in Section 21.7 Locally detach the PVC sheet from the doorto allow access into the door cavity. Do nottear the sheet; cut closely around the clips, asrequired.8 Drill out the rivets securing the door glassguide above the lock barrel, <strong>and</strong> remove it.9 Disconnect the lock barrel operating rodfrom the latch assembly, by twisting the clip<strong>and</strong> withdrawing the rod.10 Release the lock barrel retaining clip bywithdrawing it upwards, then from theoutside, withdraw the lock barrel <strong>and</strong> rod,guiding the rod out through the door skin. Thelock barrel <strong>and</strong> rod may be disconnected asrequired.Refitting11 Refitting is a reversal of the removalprocedure. Ensure that the lock barrel gasketis located correctly between the lock barrelouter surround <strong>and</strong> the door skin, <strong>and</strong> that thedoor glass guide is riveted securely. Checkthat the window operates smoothly <strong>and</strong>correctly, by temporarily refitting the regulatorh<strong>and</strong>le or operating the electric windowmotor.12 On completion, re-secure the PVC sheetthen refit the inner trim panel as described inSection 21.Door latch <strong>and</strong> interior releaseh<strong>and</strong>leRemoval13 Remove the door inner trim panel, asdescribed in Section 21.14 Locally detach the PVC sheet from thedoor to allow access into the door cavity. Donot tear the sheet; cut closely around theclips, as required.15 On rear doors fitted with central locking,undo the two screws securing the rod guard<strong>and</strong> remove it (see illustration).16 Disconnect the operating rods from thelatch assembly as necessary. On rear doorswith central locking, disconnect <strong>and</strong> releasethe motor loom multi-plug assembly, <strong>and</strong>withdraw the motor side of the loom back intothe door cavity. Undo the three screwssecuring the motor assembly, disengage itsoperating rod <strong>and</strong> remove it from the vehicle(see illustration).Removal1 Remove the door inner trim panel, asdescribed in Section 21.2 Locally detach the PVC sheet from the doorto allow access into the door cavity. Do nottear the sheet; cut closely around the clips, asrequired.3 Disconnect the h<strong>and</strong>le operating rod fromthe latch assembly, by twisting the clip <strong>and</strong>withdrawing the rod, as applicable.4 Remove the two screws securing theh<strong>and</strong>le then, from the outside, withdrawthe h<strong>and</strong>le <strong>and</strong> rod, guiding the rod outthrough the door skin as necessary (seeillustrations).
