As to proceed:These are beneficial statements compris<strong>in</strong>g clarification of the <strong>mistakes</strong> of those whopray, which they commit by way of <strong>in</strong>novat<strong>in</strong>g newly <strong>in</strong>vented statements andactions and do<strong>in</strong>g some of the pillars and Sunan acts <strong>in</strong> other than their properplaces or <strong>in</strong> other than their correct manner. I urge my brother worshipper to avoidthem.

Negligence regard<strong>in</strong>g the Matter of the SutrahThat which is correct is what the Prophet0 said:Ibn Abdil-Barr said:“Do not pray except towards a Sutrah.” 1“It is befitt<strong>in</strong>g that the worshipper should draw near to his Sutrah and not be farfrom it.” 2Imaam Maalik said:“The (draw<strong>in</strong>g of) the l<strong>in</strong>e is Baatil (Falsehood).” 32. The Woman Uncover<strong>in</strong>g her Feet <strong>in</strong> SalatThat which is correct is that which Imaam Ash-Shaafi’ee said: “It is upon thewoman to cover everyth<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Salat with the exception of her hands and her face.”He also said: “All of the woman is ‘Awrah except her hands and face; and the topof her feet is ‘Awrah.” 41 Saheeh Muslim2 Al-Kaafee 1/453 Al-Mudawwanah4 Kitaab Al-Umm

Cover<strong>in</strong>g One’s Mouth <strong>in</strong> SalatOn the authority of Aboo Hurayrah,may Allaah be pleased with him, whosaid: “Allaah’s Messenger0forbade…and that the man shouldcover his mouth (<strong>in</strong> <strong>prayer</strong>).” 10That which is an exception is cover<strong>in</strong>gone’s mouth <strong>in</strong> <strong>prayer</strong> if there islegislative reason. Carelessness <strong>in</strong> Rukoo or Exaggeration There<strong>in</strong>The Prophet0 said:“The <strong>prayer</strong> of a man is not correct until he straightens his back <strong>in</strong> Rukoo’.” 11That which is correct is that when the Prophet0 would bow, he would spreadhis back and make it even. 12 The Prophet0 said:“Then bow until you are at ease <strong>in</strong> your bow<strong>in</strong>g.” 1311 Aboo Daawud12 Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree13 Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree

Rais<strong>in</strong>g one’s Nose from the Ground and Prostrat<strong>in</strong>g only upon theForeheadThe Prophet 0 said:“There is no <strong>prayer</strong> for he whose nose does not touch as much of the ground as hisforehead.” 17That which is correct is that the Prophet 0 would place his nose and foreheadupon the ground. 1815. Lift<strong>in</strong>g one’s Feet from the Ground when Prostrat<strong>in</strong>g17 Reported by Ad-Daaraqutnee; Al-Albaanee graded it Saheeh.18 Reported by At-Tirmidhee and Al-Albaanee graded is Hasan

The Prophet 0would spread his left palm uponhis left knee. 2321. Po<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g when say<strong>in</strong>g the TasleemOn the authority of Jaabir ibn Samurah, who said: “When we used to pray with theMessenger of Allaah0 we would say: ‘As-Salaamu Alaykum waRahmatullaah; As-Salaamu Alaykum waRahmatullaah,’ and po<strong>in</strong>t would the hand tothe two sides. So Allaah’s Messenger0 said:“What is the matter, that I see you rais<strong>in</strong>gyour hands as if they are the tails of wildanimals?”So they left the rais<strong>in</strong>g of the hands andsufficed with the Tasleem.” 24 That which iscorrect is to say the Tasleem to the right andleft without po<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g.23 Reported by Muslim24 Reported by Ibn Khuzaymah

Allaah’s Messenger 0 said:“When one of you performs Wudoo’ for <strong>prayer</strong> (and goes out), let him not<strong>in</strong>terlace his f<strong>in</strong>gers.” 25 Add<strong>in</strong>g the statement: “May Allaah establish it and perpetuate it,” to theIqaamah. Ibn Hajr and An-Nawawee both said: “It has no basis.” Preced<strong>in</strong>g the Imaam or co<strong>in</strong>cid<strong>in</strong>g with his movements <strong>in</strong> <strong>prayer</strong>. TheProphet 0 said:“Does not he who raises his head before the Imaam fear that Allaah willtransform his head <strong>in</strong>to the head of a donkey?!” 26 A person yawn<strong>in</strong>g without try<strong>in</strong>g to restra<strong>in</strong> it or plac<strong>in</strong>g his hand upon hismouth. An abundance of movement <strong>in</strong> <strong>prayer</strong> Rotat<strong>in</strong>g the head with the Tasleem Disturb<strong>in</strong>g those pray<strong>in</strong>g with<strong>in</strong> the Masaajid with the sounds of cellularphones Br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g small children, who have no self-control, to the Masjid. It is also amistake to deal with them <strong>in</strong> a repulsive manner Be<strong>in</strong>g extremely fast <strong>in</strong> mak<strong>in</strong>g the statements and movements of the <strong>prayer</strong>25 As-Silsilah As-Saheehah26 Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree
P a g e | 17C O N C L U S I O NThis is that which was easy for me to compile from the <strong>mistakes</strong> which theworshippers make <strong>in</strong> their <strong>prayer</strong> and their departure from the guidance of theProphet 0 there<strong>in</strong>; which every Muslim cannot do without.
