'11 • SCM-DB-109• Do not install the outdoor unit in the locations listedbelow.• Locations where discharged hot air or operating sound ofthe outdoor unit can bother neighborhood.• Locations where outlet air of the outdoor unit blowsdirectly to plants. The outlet air can affect adversely to theplant etc.• Locations where vibration can be amplified andtransmitted due to insufficient strength of structure.• Locations where vibration and operation sound generatedby the outdoor unit can affect seriously (on the wall or atthe place near bed room).• Locations where an equipment affected by high harmonicsis placed (TV set or radio receiver is placed within 1m).• Locations where drainage cannot run off safely. It can affect surrounding environment and cause a claim.• Do not install the unit near the location where leakageof combustible gases can occur. If leaked gases accumulate around the unit, it can cause fire.• Do not install the unit where corrosive gas (such assulfurous acid gas etc.) or combustible gas (such asthinner and petroleum gases) can accumulate orcollect, or where volatile combustible substances areCAUTIONhandled.Corrosive gas can cause corrosion of heat exchanger, breakage of plastic parts and etc. And combustible gas cancause fire.• Do not install nor use the system close to theequipment that generates electromagnetic fields orhigh frequency harmonics.Equipment such as inverters, standby generators, medicalhigh frequency equipments and telecommunicationequipments can affect the system, and cause malfunctionsand breakdowns. The system can also affect medicalequipment and telecommunication equipment, and obstructits function or cause jamming.• Do not install the outdoor unit in a location whereinsects and small animals can inhabit.Insects and small animals can enter the electric parts andcause damage or fire. Instruct the user to keep thesurroundings clean.• Do not use the base flame for outdoor unit which iscorroded or damaged due to long periods ofoperation.Using an old and damage base flame can cause the unitfalling down and cause personal injury.• Do not use any materials other than a fuse with thecorrect rating in the location where fuses are to beused.Connecting the circuit with copper wire or other metalthread can cause unit failure and fire.• Do not touch any buttons with wet hands. It can cause electric shocks.• Do not touch any refrigerant pipes with your handswhen the system is in operation.During operation the refrigerant pipes become extremely hotor extremely cold depending the operating condition, and itcan cause burn injury or frost injury.• Do not touch the suction or aluminum fin on theoutdoor unit. This may cause injury.• Do not put anything on the outdoor unit and operatingunit. This may cause damage the objects or injury due to fallingto the object.• Do not use the unit for special purposes such asstoring foods, cooling precision instruments andpreservation of animals, plants or art.• Do not clean up the unit with water.Check before installation work• Model name and power source• Refrigerant piping length• Piping, wiring and miscellaneous small parts• Indoor unit installation manual1234Accessories for outdoor unitGrommet (Heat pump type only) 2Drain elbow (Heat pump type only) 1Variable diameter joint 9.5212.7 3Variable diameter joint 9.5215.88 2Note: Provide flare nuts when using the variableNote: diameter joint (for 12.7, 15.88).Q’tyabcdefOption partsSealing plateSleeveInclination platePuttyDrain hose (extensionhose)Piping cover (for insulationof connection piping)Q’ty11111112345678Necessary tools for the installation workPlus headed driverKnifeSawTape measureHammerSpanner wrenchTorque wrench [14.0~82.0N·m (1.4~8.2kgf·m)]Hole core drill (65mm in diameter)910111213141516Wrench key (Hexagon) [4m/m]Vacuum pumpVacuum pump adapter (Anti-reverse flow type)(Designed specifically for R410A)Gauge manifold (Designed specifically for R410A)Charge hose (Designed specifically for R410A)Flaring tool set (Designed specifically for R410A)Gas leak detector (Designed specifically for R410A)Gauge for projection adjustment (Used when flare ismade by using conventional flare tool)CAUTION• This model requires normally a minimum of 4 indoor units.• This model requires a minimum of 3 indoor units in case of SRK-ZK-S, SRK-ZJX-S, FDEN type combination only.• This model requires a minimum of 2 indoor units in case of SRK71ZK-S type only.1SELECTION OF INSTALLATION LOCATIONInstall at location that meets the following conditions after getting approval from the customer.Where the following installation space is available, and where airdoes not gather.Where rain and sunlight do not directly hit the unit, and wherethere is enough air circulation. Also, where the unit cannot be buried by snow.A location which can sustain the weight of the unit, and wherenoises and vibrations are not enhanced.Where blasts of cold or hot air and noise do not bother theneighbors.Where the unit does not receive heat radiation from other heatsources.Where there are no obstructions (animals, plants, etc.) to thesuction inlet and blowing outlet. Where water may drain out. Please avoid the following locations. Where there is constant exposure to harsh winds such as thetop floors of a building. Also, locations with exposure to salty air. Where there are oil splashes, vapor, and smoke Where there are possibilities of flammable gas leaks.Installation Space (on a flat surface) Walls surrounding the unit in the four sides are not acceptable. There must be a 1-meter or large space in the above. Where a danger of short-circuiting exists, install guide louvers. When more than one unit are installed, provide sufficient intake spaceconsciously so that short-circuiting may not occur. When piling snow can bury the outdoor unit, provide proper snow guards.Examples ofinstallationDemensionsL1L2L3Open300150Open5300(mm)500Open150L2AirintakeAir intakeAir outletL3( Servicespace )L1No obstacles(Service space forelectrical parts)Installation In installing the unit, fix the unit’s legs with bolts specified onthe right. The protrusion of an anchor bolt on the front side must be keptwithin 15 mm. Securely install the unit so that it does not fall over duringearthquakes or strong winds, etc. Refer to the right illustrations for information regardingconcrete foundations. Install the unit in a level area. (With a gradient of 5 mm or less.)Improper installation can result in a compressor failure, brokenpiping within the unit and abnormal noise generation.Anchor bolt fixed position3707615OutletIntake190 580 20097019 410 1944873Notabilia for installationUse a long block toextend the width.Fasten withbolts (M10-12)Use a thicker block toanchor deeper.- 39 -
