Red
Hook
Bard’s 540-acre residential campus is situated in the beautiful and historic Hudson
River valley and adjacent to 1,400 acres of nature preserve and a national estuarine
sanctuary. The park-like campus is bordered by the Hudson River on the west; the
Catskill Mountains, beyond the river, can be viewed from many student residences and
from the grounds and gardens of Blithewood. The campus has more than 70 buildings,
many designed by world-renowned architects, which range in architectural style from
19th-century stone houses and riverfront mansions to contemporary facilities. Shuttles
provide regular service between the campus and the neighboring communities of Red
Hook, Rhinebeck, Tivoli, and Kingston.
