Jabiru Aircraft Pty LtdInstruction & Maintenance ManualJabiru <strong>2200</strong> Aircraft EngineHydraulic Valve Lifter Models14.1.4 Engine Runs Too Hot - Oil Temperature Above 110 o C (230 o F)Possible CauseRemedy1) Too much oil in crankcase Check oil level & adjust if necessary2) Low oil level Check oil level & add oil if necessary3) Poor quality oil Oil change, use specified oil4) Clogged oil filter Change filter5) Excessive piston blow by Common reason: worn or sticking piston rings,complete engine overhaul necessary6) Faulty bearings If metallic particles are present in oil, completeengine overhaul necessary7) Faulty oil temperature gauge Exchange gauge14.1.5 Unsatisfactory Power OutputPossible CauseRemedy1) Ignition failure Check ignition circuits; check wiring and pickups;replace ignition units.2) Too much oil in crankcase Check oil level & adjust if necessary3) Insufficient fuel supply Check fuel supply system4) Fuel not according to specifications Re-fuel with specified fuel5) Incorrect throttle adjustment Re-adjust throttle fitting6) Leak in air intake Check and tighten all connections, check carbysockets.7) Carby diaphragm damage renew diaphragm8) Hydraulic Lifter stuck / collapsed Replace lifter(s)14.1.6 Low Oil PressurePossible CauseRemedy1) Insufficient oil in sump Check oil level & replenish as necessary2) High oil temperature Refer to Para. 10.43) Faulty pressure gauge, sender or wiring Check gauge, sender & wiring. Renew asnecessary.4) Faulty crankshaft bearings Engine overhaul5) Relief valve not sealing Inspect, replace back after cleaning14.1.7 Engine Keeps Running with Ignition OffPossible CauseRemedy1) Idle speed too high Adjust to proper idle speed (900 RPM)2) Faulty ignition switch Check switch & cables.
