Moore’s CampusMoore’s vibrant Center City Philadelphia campus is located just off Logan Square on BenjaminFranklin Parkway. Many of our youth classes take advantage of Moore’s location by includingoff-site trips to artistic and cultural attractions at no additional cost. Additionally, youth classestake advantage of Aviator Park and Logan Square, both located across the street from MooreCollege, by holding classes in these outdoor areas when the weather permits.Moore College is a friendly, safe and manageable campus. Students can be dropped off in frontof Moore’s main entrance on Race Street between 19th and 20th where they will be greetedby college and/or youth programs staff. General InformationWe hope our youth programs students will find their time at Moore College fun,stimulating and full of new challenges to learn and grow. Our mission is to inspire theartistic potential in all youth in an exciting and challenging visual arts college environment.Art SuppliesArt supplies are provided to students in courses for grades 1–8. Students in courses for grades 9–12are required to purchase supplies and will receive a materials list on the first day of class. Please donot purchase supplies ahead of time. Instructors will provide information regarding supply options.High school students will need an additional $25 - $50 (approximately) for art supplies.General information • youth programs •14Certificate Programs for High School StudentsMoore College offers Art & Design and Fashion Design certificate programs for high school youngadults. Participation in the certificate program is easy! To earn the certificate students must enrollin the program by paying a one-time enrollment fee of $25. Students must then take five classeswithin their certificate area in three years. Students receive special recognition upon certificatecompletion and many other program benefits.ClassesAll classes are studio based and held in Moore’s BFA class spaces. Students should plan to arriveapproximately 15–20 minutes before the start of class on the first day.Code of ConductStudents are expected to follow general behavior rules of being respectful of each other, theinstructor and staff, as well as the college facility. A question and answer session will follow thepresentation, as well as an opportunity to receive individualized feedback.Summer Art & Design InstituteThe Summer Art & Design Institute (SADI) is a pre-college residential program that allows youngwomen that have completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grades to engage in an intense college levelexperience at Moore. SADI features include:• Focused attention on a specialized area of interest: Animation & Illustration, Fashion Design, FineArts: Painting & Printmaking, or Photography.• The development of finished work for a student’s formal college admission portfolio.• Exposure to the vibrant and exciting larger arts community in Philadelphia.• 3.0 college credits upon successful completion of the program.VisitsParents are welcome to visit classes and speak with faculty regarding youth progression.
