PSS SHAFT SEALSThe PSS Shaft Seal uses the highest quality materials andmanufacturing procedures to give a drip free performance with zerowear to the propeller shaft and the capability of operating safely up to500° F.They require no lubrication other than the water they are working in.A fitting is provided on the carbon flange to accept a feed from theengine’s water exhaust to assist cooling.Features:vibrationnever need replacing under normaloperating conditionsTechnical Specifications:High Density Carbon Graphite Flange stainless steel rotor during the initial first few minutes of operation ensuring aperfect fit thus eliminating any drips or spray. on rubber and plastic based seals.Stainless Steel Rotorshaft with double set screws.Reinforced BellowsThe heavy reinforced nitrile bellows are resistant to petroleum basedproducts and retain their preset dimensions.The PrincipleThe seal is created by contact of thecarbon face against the rotating stainlesssteel rotor. A hydrodynamic bead of waterbetween the carbon seal and rotorprovides lubrication. The carbon seal androtor provides lubrication. The carbonseal and bellows assembly is fitted to thestern tube by twin stainless hose clamps.Contact with the rotor is assisted by waterpressure which helps to cool theassembly.
