ENVIRONMENTAL RANKING<strong>Generali</strong>’s attention to the environment has also beenrewarded by improvements in various environmentalrankings, specifically the CDP and Green Ranking.The <strong>Generali</strong> Group has participated in the CDP forseveral years now. This is an international initiativesupported by more than 700 large corporate investorsaimed at gathering information at major companiesworldwide about their greenhouse gas emissions andthe strategies adopted to deal with climate changerisks and opportunities. In the CDP Global 500 ClimateChange <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2012</strong>, which assesses disclosure andperformance, the <strong>Generali</strong> Group ranked 80/100. Thisresult is a 12 point improvement on the previous year’sranking, moving the Company from the C band, where itranked last year, to the B band, in a scale where A is thehighest level and E is the lowest. This improvement wasachieved as a result of wider disclosure of strategies,a more in-depth analysis of risks and opportunitiesand more comprehensive reporting on greenhouse gasemissions.In the Green Rankings <strong>2012</strong>, published by Newsweekin October, <strong>Generali</strong> held 12 th place in the list of thetop 500 companies in the world (30 th in 2011), rankingas the number two company in the insurance andreinsurance industry. In collaboration with Trucostand Sustainalytics - leading environmental researchcompanies - Newsweek produces Green Rankings whichassess the leading companies in the world, assigning ascore for each of the following criteria: environmentalimpacts, environmental management and transparencyin environmental reporting.
