Farm Practices Protection ActThe Farm Practices Protection (Right to Farm) Act (FPPA) came into effect in 1995 and gives farmers <strong>the</strong> right to farm in <strong>the</strong>ALR and on land zoned <strong>for</strong> farm use.The FPPA protects farmers that are using normal farm practices from nuisance lawsuits and nuisance by-laws <strong>of</strong> localgovernments. It also establishes a process to resolve concerns and complaints in order to:Let farmers farm;Keep people out <strong>of</strong> court;Deal fairly with people's concerns and complaints; andDeal with poor farm practices.The FPPA is administered by <strong>the</strong> MOAL.
