Staré budovy Nádraží císaře FrantiškaJosefa I. byly strženy a místo nich byla postavenanová hlavní budova v secesním slohu. Architektonický návrhpřipravil Josef Fanta, podle nějž je budova pojmenována.1972 – 1979Z důvodu zvýšení kapacity přepravy byla k Fantově budověpřipojena nová odbavovací hala podle návrhu Josefa Dandy,Jana Bočana a Aleny a Jana Šrámkových, představujícíčistý styl architektury sedmdesátých let 20. století.17. prosince 2003České dráhy a Grandi Stazioni uzavřely – na dobu 30 letod dokončení stavebních prací – tři smlouvy o revitalizaci,provozu a správě Hlavního nádraží v Praze, nádraží v MariánskýchLázních a Karlových Varech. Jedná se o pilotnízahraniční projekt italské firmy, která hodlá investovatv České republice více než 1,15 mld. Kč (přibližně 47 milionůEuro).2004 – 2006Společnost Grandi Stazioni dokončila projektovou dokumentaci,založenou na nové koncepci fungování železničníhonádraží. Nepřitažlivé neosobní prostory se změnív moderní centrum služeb k uspokojení každého přánía potřeb cestujících. Autorem architektonických návrhů jePatrik Kotas. Nadto společnost Grandi Stazioni zajistilavšechna potřebná povolení, včetně stavebních. Důraz jekladen na bezpečnost, přehledný informační systém uvnitřnádraží a bezbariérový přístup.17. prosince 2006Je stavebně zahájena první etapa kompletní revitalizaceHlavního nádraží Praha a nádraží v Mariánských Lázních.Jako generální dodavatel stavby je na základě řádně uskutečněnéhovýběrového řízení vybrána stavební společnostMetrostav.První polovina roku 2008První etapa revitalizovaného Hlavního nádraží v Praze bylaotevřena veřejnosti. Zahrnuje 3 111 m 2 rekonstruovanýchprostor, zejména pak 1 690 m 2 nově vzniklých obchodníchploch. Současně je zahájena druhá etapa revitalizace.Červen 2009Druhá etapa revitalizovaného Hlavního nádraží v Prazebyla otevřena veřejnosti. Zahrnuje 12 087 m 2 rekonstruovanýchprostor, včetně 2 666 m 2 nově vzniklých obchodníchploch a navíc i 2 430 m 2 nového ČD Centra Českýchdrah, kde jsou umístěny pokladny a úschovna zavazadel.Současně je zahájena třetí etapa revitalizace.Listopad 2009Otevření kompletně revitalizovaného nádraží v MariánskýchLázních, což představuje celkově 4 892 m 2 zrekonstruovanýchprostor.Prosinec 2010Třetí etapa revitalizovaného Hlavního nádraží v Prazebyla otevřena veřejnosti a tím byla i dokončena rekonstrukcecelé nové odbavovací haly. To představuje celkově30 038 m 2 zrekonstruovaných prostor nové odbavovacíhaly, včetně 9 902 m 2 nově vytvořených obchodních ploch.14. dubna 2011Slavnostní otevření celé zrekonstruované nové odbavovacíhaly Hlavního nádraží Praha za účastí prezidentů Italskérepubliky a České republiky, pana Giorgia Napolitanaa pana Václava Klause.Od nynějška do konce roku 2013Nadchází výzva k revitalizaci a k nalezení nového komerčníhovyužití historické Fantovy budovy.MILESTONES OF A SUCCESS STORYDecember 1871The opening of the Franz Josef I Railway Station, re-namedthe Prague Main Railway Station in January 1953.1901 – 1909The new main building is constructed in the “liberty” styleand is erected in place of the Franz Josef I Railway Station,which was based on the architectural plans of JosefFanta; the building today still bears his name.1972 – 1979Following an increase in the demand for transportation,a new building is built adjacent to the Fanta Building, thusresulting in the birth of the New Hall which was based onthe architectural plans of Josef Danda, Jan Bočan, AlenaŠrámková and Jan Šrámek, and represents a clean archetypeof 1970’s architecture.17 December 2003České dráhy and Grandi Stazioni conclude 3 contracts, forthe duration of 30 years from the completion of the constructionworks, on the revitalization, management andoperation of the Prague Main Railway Station, as well asfor the Mariánské Lázně and Karlovy Vary Railway Stations.Such an undertaking represents the pilot foreignproject of the Italian company, which intends to invest1.15 billion CZK approximately (47 millions € approximately)in the Czech Republic.2004 – 2006Grandi Stazioni realized the entire design process basedon the new concept of a railway station (no longer as transientplaces without a soul, but rather as service centersestablished to satisfy every anticipated need and desireof the passenger) and the related architectural plans ofPatrik Kotas. The Metrostav constructioncompany is selected as the General Contractorfollowing the proper tender process.First half of 2008Phase I of the complete revitalization of the Prague MainRailway Station opens to the public, consisting of 3,111sqm of refurbished premises, mainly including 1,690 sqmof newly constructed commercial shop spaces. Additionally,Phase II of the revitalization is simultaneously launched.June 2009Phase II of the Prague Main Railway Station revitalizationopens to the public, consisting of 12,087 sqm of refurbishedpremises, including 2,666 sqm of newly constructedcommercial shop spaces and 2,430 sqm of new spacedesignated for České dráhy comprising the ticketing officeand left-luggage area.
