AlTurki holding a starting gun at the beginning of the raceThe “14 th Annual Charity Run” was held onMarch 19 th , <strong>2009</strong> under the patronage ofHRH Prince MohammedBin Fahad Bin AbdulazizAl-Saud. Once again,<strong>Rawabi</strong> <strong>Holding</strong> Companywas one of the mainsponsors of the event.This year, more than10,000 runners fromdifferent age groupsincluding students, employeesof governmentand private institutions and many businessmenand VIPS participated in the run. RHC)On Thursday, the 5 th of March <strong>2009</strong>, <strong>Rawabi</strong> femaleemployees were invited to an Open Day atAlTurki Chalet in Sunset Beach.The ladies enjoyed a relaxed and casual day(RHC), Dal Bahadur Nausari of RTF, JeromeCacho (RHC), Teknath Dhungana (RTC),Ganesh Kattel (RTC), GhanashaymPokharel (RHC),Rolando Samson Jr. (RHC),Prakash Shakya (RTF), KholMan Shrestha (RHC), andKhagendra Sodari (RHC).Dal Bahadur Nausari of RTFwon a Hyundai car duringthe raffles draw! We wouldlike to congratulate him <strong>for</strong>winning the new car!The Charity Run was honored by the presenceof Mr. Suliman Al Thunayan, Mayor ofAlKhobar, who was there on behalf of theGovernor of the EasternProvince. Mr. AlThunayanstated that: “theAnnual Charity Runhas become the sportand charity front of theEastern Province of SaudiArabia. Residents ofthe Eastern Province arevery proud of the runespecially that it is the leading marathoncountry-wise.” He further stated that the:“support and active participation that thecharity run has received contributed to itsgreat success during the past 14 years.”Saudi Aramco President, Khaled Al Faleh,Mr. Khalid Al Falehwho participated in the race and the awardingceremony said: “the support this eventhas been receiving duringthe past 14 years reflectsthe active and importantrole of the Private Sector insocial responsibility. SaudiAramco is also aware of theimportance of its continuousand strong support tothe charity run.”Sh. Abdulaziz AlTurki, <strong>Rawabi</strong>Group Chairman, andthe Head of the Organizing Committee ofthe Annual Charity Run, considered thisyear’s race the most successful ever as thenumber of runners exceeded <strong>for</strong>mer years.“We thank all sponsors and supporters <strong>for</strong>making this event happen and we thankAl-Khobar’s Mayor <strong>for</strong> his encouraging remarks,”AlTurki stated.where they got to know each other more andshare some laughs. A delicious BBQ lunch wasprepared followed by desserts and tea. As wonderfulas the whole day was, it was topped withthe ladies jokes and chatters which bridged gapsbetween all of them while they enjoyed gamesand music too.“My favorite part was the networking and gettingto meet people I work with but never see”commented Mariam AlShafei from ABACORP.“It was a nice idea to have an Open day <strong>for</strong> <strong>Rawabi</strong>females. The order includes the supplyof Potassium Formate solution in LiquidForm, Potassium Formate in free flowingsolid crystals <strong>for</strong>m and Sodium Formate infree flowing granules <strong>for</strong>m. These DrillingAdmixtures are manufactured and suppliedby RTC’s exclusive partners Perstorp SpecialtyChemicals AB, Sweden and NorbarMinerals, Norway. <strong>Rawabi</strong> EMEC, a jointventure company between <strong>Rawabi</strong> <strong>Holding</strong>Company and EMEC (Egyptian Mud-EngineeringCo) will handle all the logisticalsupport required to supply these chemicals.<strong>Rawabi</strong> Trading & Contracting recentlysigned a “5-year term CommittedPurchase Agreement” with Saudi AramcoDrilling and Chemicals Purchasing Unit <strong>for</strong>the supply of Sunsweep Super Fiber, whichis used as a drilling hole cleaning agent. TheUS based FORTA Corporation, RTC’s exclusivepartner <strong>for</strong> Super Fibers, will manufactureand supply to Aramco these productson RTC’s behalf.<strong>Rawabi</strong> Trading and Contractingrecently signed a “5-year term CommittedPurchase Agreement” with Saudi AramcoDrilling and Chemicals Purchasing Unit <strong>for</strong>the supply of Potato Starch, used as a DrillingMud Admixture, in free flowing coarsegranulated powder <strong>for</strong>m. RTC’s exclusivepartners HAYTAK FZE, UAE, will supply theproduct on RTC’s behalf.American oil field services providerCUDD Pressure Control (CUDD),through its exclusive partner RTC, is movingahead strongly with Saudi Aramco’s threeyear Snubbing Services contract. CUDDwith RTC has recentlymanagedto assist SaudiAramco in restoringseveral criticalemergency shutdownson an Aramco contracted offshorejack-up rig. This high quality response hasincreased the confidence of Saudi Aramcooffshore drilling department in RTC and itshigh quality international partners.<strong>Rawabi</strong> Swiber,a 50-50 owned jointventure between<strong>Rawabi</strong> <strong>Holding</strong> andSwiber Limited ofSingapore, has beenregistered in bothSaudi Aramco andKJO Contracting Departments as an approvedOffshore Engineering, Procurement,Construction, Installation and CommissioningContractor (EPCIC). We would like tocongratulate <strong>Rawabi</strong> Swiber on this importantmilestone.<strong>New</strong> <strong>Rawabi</strong>-Swiber, ENPPIConsortium<strong>Rawabi</strong> Swiber and Engineering <strong>for</strong> thePetroleum and Process Industries of Egypt(Enppi) along with <strong>Rawabi</strong> Trading andContracting are in the final stages of establishinga new consortium agreement thatwill create a major EPCIC Contractor capableof handling jobs valued at overUS $ 1 Billion.
