Endowed with an extraordinaryhospital conception, it <strong>of</strong>fersall the resources essential for exceptionalmedical treatment. Montero,who has devoted his life to<strong>Dermatology</strong> and Dermatopathology,began studying in Philadelphia,U.S., later achieving, following hisspecialization in both branches, andthanks to his enormous enthusiasm,dedication and effort, the highestlevels in the scientific and treatment fields. His Skin Polyclinic is an example that needsto be followed by all young dermatologists as regards patient care. He works there togetherwith Drs. Arévalo, Cateura and Tcheckmedyian, <strong>of</strong>fering excellent medical attention.Every type <strong>of</strong> medical and surgical procedure is carried out, as well as theanatomo-pathological examinations reported by Dr. Montero himself. It was initially createdas a small Hospital for urgent cases, later to turn into one <strong>of</strong> the important such institutionsin the Americas. Its first Head was Adjunct Pr<strong>of</strong>. Luis Torres de la Llosa who, alongwith Dr. Rotkier and investing true scientific potential turned this Polyclinic into a completeestablishment with an excellent, very well stocked archive <strong>of</strong> photographs and histologicalpreparations. The Service is currently led by Dr. Della Santa who is accompaniedby Drs. Santurión, Bazzano, Costa, Iglesias, Lacuesta, Machado, Téllez and Vainsencher.PEDRO VISCAThis was a Pediatric Hospital that <strong>of</strong>fered a large number <strong>of</strong> Polyclinics, among themthat <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dermatology</strong>. From its launching until its definitive closure, the leadership <strong>of</strong> thisService was held by Adjunct Pr<strong>of</strong>. José María Tiscornia Denis, an extraordinary teacher.Only he could have done that work with such enthusiasm, carrying out the indefatigablelabors <strong>of</strong> every morning, alone or, sometimes, accompanied by some graduate student in411
