ALDO EDGAR MARTÍNEZ CAMPOS, JORGE ISAAC NEIRA CUADRADr. Sonia Rivas Serrano: Current president <strong>of</strong> the Nicaraguan Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dermatology</strong>,since 2002. She has organized two national congresses <strong>of</strong> the specialized field andhas participated as a guest pr<strong>of</strong>essor in many national congresses.Dr. Herman Allan Schaffer Suárez: He is an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> the undergraduateChair <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dermatology</strong> at the Medical School <strong>of</strong> the <strong>American</strong> University.Dr. Jorge Neira Cuadra: At present, he is the Head <strong>of</strong> the National Center <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dermatology</strong>,to which he has made structural improvements. He is an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong>the <strong>American</strong> University Medical School undergraduate program and an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor<strong>of</strong> the graduate Chair <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dermatology</strong> at the Medical School <strong>of</strong> the Autonomous NationalUniversity <strong>of</strong> Nicaragua (Managua). By virtue <strong>of</strong> his capacity and dedication, hehas become a solid pillar in teaching and the development <strong>of</strong> the graduate Chair. He hasparticipated in national congresses as a guest pr<strong>of</strong>essor and in international congressesas a lecturer, presenting his experiences and work.We can assert without fear <strong>of</strong> being wrong that Nicaraguan <strong>Dermatology</strong>, despitebeing a specialized field with a small membership, currently occupies a place <strong>of</strong> honorin Nicaraguan medicine, thanks to the prestige and scientific capacity that its foundersgave it in the past — founders who have bequeathed a beautiful work that current generations<strong>of</strong> dermatologists are strengthening and enriching with their arduous and constantwork. We are fully convinced that the present and the future <strong>of</strong> Nicaraguandermatology are in good hands, and that a very promising future awaits us. ■October 2004■ References1.
